Why I hope that Obama is our next president

It seems that KenH has decided that he will vote for the "lesser of two evils". That I cannot do. Evil is still evil. There is an old Irish saying, " It is better to be with the devil you know, rather than the devil you dont know" (or something like that). I dont agree with that. I have decided to sit this one out as far as the president goes. I will concentrate on the House and Senate. I would vote for Ron Paul if he runs as third party.

This is so simple it isn't even funny:

1. Obama doesn't have anywhere near the experience needed to run this country in a time of war.
2. Obama is FOR abortion!
3. THis is THE most important "power" a President has----the ability to nominate probably 2 Supreme Court Justices. I can't even imagine any decent Christian willing to let an ultra Liberal Democrat such as Obama being able to choose the next 2!:BangHead:

KenH's decision to vote for Obama is more of an immature slap in the face at the Republican Party for turning their backs on Ron Paul, more than support for the ideology of the Democrats. Let him suck on his pacifier for a while. He'll get ovet it.

I feel that way too. Ken slapped me in the face by taking his support for the most conservative candidate, and giving it to the most liberal. I'm glad all Paul supporters are not so fickle.

Do you not agree that Obama's foreign policy is the closest to that of Ron Paul's of the three remaining major candidates?

I have not committed to voting for anyone in November. As I said previously, if Arkansas is not competitive then I may very well vote for the Libertarian Party candidate.

While they may be close, I doubt they are the same. You can never make a decision on who to vote for on any single issue. Obamma is the most liberal Senator in Washington. There are too many important issues that he is WRONG about to vote for him on any one issue that you may agree with him on.

I voted for Ron Paul during the primaries, and will either vote third party Constitutionalist candidate or leave the presidential part of my ballot blank in November, but I could never get myself to vote for a liberal Rebpulican or Democrat!

That has been my point all along to Ken. He has always jumped on others for holding to a one-issue stance (abortion). Yet he has done the exact same thing now with Obama. Although I am sure when he reads this he will jump in and start backpedaling again and say it isn't just one reason. But then read all his other posts about Obama and you see once again it comes back down to one issue.

No, I have no problem admitting that I am supporting(not necessarily voting for) Obama on the issue of foreign policy as the distinguishing issue between Obama, Clinton, and McCain. I have no desire to see these United States start another senseless war like the one when we invaded Iraq. I think that it is more likely that Clinton and McCainm especially McCain, would do such a thing than Obama.

If other folks want to use the abortion in deciding how to vote, that is fine. I don't really see how there is much difference in practical terms between the three major candidates left on the abortion issue.

If you are referring to the National Journal, I have my doubts about their methodology. I also doubt anyone is more liberal in the U.S. Senate than Senator Bernie Sanders who is an avowed socialist.

Nor can I. For a Christian to back someone that says that murder of innocent babies is OK.. is abominable before God.

Obominable will stand before God one day.
And so will everyone that votes for him.. and give an account for why they broke the commandment "Thou shalt not murder"

It is no different to vote for someone who wants to start an unjust war.

Innocent people die in war, too. Republicans don't want to talk about that one.

Supporting murder by your vote is being an accomplice.

Then if you voted for Bush (as I did), that makes us all accomplices in torture.

Amen

Anybody who supports a "pro choice" candidate really needs to take a hard look in their spiritual mirror.

That is one of the many reasons I can NOT vote for McCain, Clinton or Obamma. They all three have shown by their votes in Washington that they don't support protecting the life of the pre-born child from the moment of fertilization.

If somebody joined the armed forces knowing very well they could become a casualty of war...they are not "innocent".

Infants and newborns are innocent. Adults are not.

If I recall...a president cannot go to war on his own.

I'm not talking about our soldiers. I'm talking about Iraqis AND their children. I assure you. Children were killed in the Iraq war.

And I also recall that a president cannot do anything about abortion on his own, either.
