You state that man has absolutely no part in salvation, correct? Answer that, and we'll go from there.
John 1:12,13:
"Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become the children of God --children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision nor of human decision or a husband's will, but born of God."

Romans 9:16 :
"It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God's mercy."

James 1:18 :
"He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of first-fruits of all he created."

To be saved one must be born again (or born from above). But the sinner is passive. God does the work. God regenerates. The Lord opens hearts --people can't open their own hearts. See the example of Lydia in Acts 16:14.

People can't see the kingdom of God unless they are born anew.(Jn.3:3)

They can't understand spiritual matters unless they are given a new nature --1 Cor. 2:14.

Folks can't come until they are effectually called by the Spirit of God --John 6:44,45.

People are commanded by God to repent and believe --but no one can repent and believe unless God opens their hearts. They are in bondage to sin. Their spiritual eyes are blinded. God transfers them from the kingdom of darkness to the kingdom of light.

God is the Author and finisher of our faith. We don't have the power, ability, strength, wherewithal or any other merit to turn the ignition key so that we become saved.
