Why is his message still important today?

Martin Luther King Jr. was a leader in the civil rights movement who fought for racial equality through nonviolent protests. He played a key role in events like the Montgomery Bus Boycott and the March on Washington, where he delivered his famous "I Have a Dream" speech. His efforts led to major changes, including the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965. Although he was assassinated in 1968, his legacy of justice and peace continues to inspire people today.

Did not have a lot of positive about Dr King during his lifetime (my college years), but after reading his wife's book (My Life with MLK) saw insights and benefits of his work for the mind of Americans.

That's really interesting, It's amazing how learning more about someone can change our perspective. Glad you found insights that made a difference.

My response would be though used by god as a Important tool for civil rights for black American, to having equal rights as under constitution, Dr King did not accept Virgin Birth, Deity of Jesus, physical resurrection etc so seems to be into the "social gospel"

"Why is his message still important today?" So far, no post has addressed this question.
Marriage is important because God condones it.

[Tit 2:4-5 KJV] 4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
5 [To be] discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

[Heb 13:4 KJV] 4 Marriage [is] honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

It is reported MLK did not abide by God's revealed will as stated above.

Enough said.
