Why New York State?

I found this statement elsewhere:

The guy who recently shot all those folks in Buffalo, NY was asked why he went into New York to do the massacre. His answer? Because New York has some of the stiffest gun laws in the country, he knew that almost nobody there would be armed and able to stop him.

Now, tell me exactly how New York’s gun laws did anything other than create an opportunity for a madman to slaughter innocent people.

I did a quick search but could not find a reference.
Has anyone else heard this?
If so - and if the statement is valid - do you agree?

So you're claiming that the more guns in America the fewer homicides? That's ridiculous and contrary to the facts. You people seem to put guns and the Republican party on the same level as Jesus. The Judgment day is coming.

Here's an interesting case:

In Kennesaw, Georgia, local law says that “every head of household residing in the city limits is required to maintain a firearm.”

This is not actually enforced, but gun ownership is very high.

Kennesaw has had one murder in the last six years and a violent crime rate of below 2%.

(Kennesaw is a city within the Atlanta metro area).

I remember Oprah Winfrey did a live show from there many years ago -
seems like the law is effective. The show was about the requirement for a household to have a weapon. there were a few execptions.s

Stitistically, all the mass shootings happen in the most highly gun restricted places.

I do not see Salty making any such statement. Could you please show me where, in this thread, where he has done so?

That's ridiculous and contrary to the facts.
Since he’s not debating that, as you allege, your statement is groundless.

You people seem to put guns and the Republican party on the same level as Jesus.
“You people”? And what kind of "people" is that? Last time I heard a line like that it was from a guy claiming to be KKK.

Funny you mention the Republicans as I am one as well. No, I do not put the GOP on the same level of Jesus, nor do I worship guns. However I do worship Jesus. Do you?

The Judgment day is coming.
Yadda yadda yadda. They’ve been saying that for thousands for years now. I’ll believe it when I see it. However, I also make it a point to always stay on good terms with Jesus, so when He comes, I’m ready. I don’t have to panic and make amends at the last moment. Do you?

I am going to answer my own question - but in story form - that has nothing to do with firearms.

My brother made a major career change - he moved to a new city in the Eastern USA. He started
a brand new business and after a few short years - he became very successful.
I had asked him - how he happened to go into that particular business
He told me that he looked in the yellow pages (remember those:confused:) and noticed there was not one business which was present in the city. So he started that form of business.

I will let you figure out how that answers my question.

And yes - that is a true story -
Epilogue - He sold his business a few years ago - He will never have to work again!
