I wouldn't call her dumb. But it does concern me that she appears to be very ignorant and uniformed about world affairs. Some of those answers, or rather non answers with Couric were brutal. As far as being edited, well that is a lame excuse, in that position one needs to know how to answer hard questions. You can blame "taken out of context" if someone edits it to look like you were saying something to mean one thing when in fact in the context of the entire thought meant something different. But her just not able to properly answer was slightly alarming. The one that really struck me was when asked about what magazines and papers she read to keep informed about world events. She was just clueless, she just fumbled around and could not name one, and when pressed on it after about the third try she just said something like "you know all of them". I would like my vice-president to be well informed and well read on what is happening in the world and it was very apparent she does not read much if at all about the current events. If someone read something daily or weekly it would not be something you had to even think about you would just respond.
That said I am 100% supporting her and McCain. I have always voted republican my entire life, and will gladly do so again. Also I like Palin, and think she has a political skill that few do, and can be a good leader and decision maker, she is refreshing. However it is time for her to start learning more, and fast, so she is ready to take over if needed. So while I do like her a lot, I also have to be honest and acknowledge where criticism is valid.
