Why the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is not for Today

Which verse in scripture commands the saved to seek this Baptism in Holy Spirit then? If for today, would not the Lord have us seek it?
I would teach this....

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. - Colossians 3:1-2

I would imagine all gifts given from on high unique to the believer. If it is a gift of tongues it will be a unique tongue. If it is a gift of speaking it will be a unique message. The uniqueness is what makes it interesting to look into...

Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. - 1 Peter 1:12

So many today are going after Masters and Doctorate degrees in religion these days. But if the Spirit of Christ is not speaking through the message it is as boring, dry, and uninteresting of topics as one can endure. The video below is a sister in our church bringing a message in tongues to the church, and it was a unique word! It would have been even more edifying had someone brought an interpretation to the message.

Just go by what James says. If God gives you faith for healing, he intends to heal you. If he does not, he does not intend to heal you.
Its not the faith of the person sick, its the one of the Elders praying over and for them!

Christ paid only for the sins of the elect. It is to these he gives faith. If he withholds it in healing, it is because it isn't his will.

God heals the lost and unsaved daily basis, as He is good towards even those! He heals thru medicine and hospitals!

I would encourage folks to... Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. - Philippians 2:11

There are somethings other Christians partake in that simply are not for you!

1 And it came to pass, that, while Apollos was at Corinth, Paul having passed through the upper coasts came to Ephesus: and finding certain disciples,
2 He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
3 And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
4 Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
6 And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.
7 And all the men were about twelve. - Acts 19:1-7

Paul could sense something was missing.

Jesus was and is God, so all of His miracles are due to that truth!

Jesus set exemplar 100% MAN 100% God. Jesus did not exercise divine power.

John 14

10“Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on My own initiative, but the Father abiding in Me does His works.

If you start with any notion man independent from God, you already destroyed the man.

You can't breathe one breath without God's aid. Miracles are not alien.

John 14

12“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.

No where does scripture teach the LIE that miracles died with the apostles

Not a good proof text for this, as they had not even heard that Jesus the Messiah had came yet!

God can still do miracles as He sees fit, but NONE have been gifted by Him to do them as Apostles were!

“The chief dangers which confront the coming century will be religion without the Holy Ghost, Christianity without Christ, forgiveness without repentance, salvation without regeneration, politics without God, and heaven without hell.” - General William Booth - Salvation Army 1829-1916

Which sounds like the old ancients of Israel....

Then said he unto me, Son of man, hast thou seen what the ancients of the house of Israel do in the dark, every man in the chambers of his imagery? for they say, the Lord seeth us not; the Lord hath forsaken the earth. - Ezekiel 8:12

You are confusing the new birth with the baptism. They are not the same.
In the teaching of baptisms the saved receive the bapism in the Holy Spirit, the lost in the day Judgement receive the baptism in the unquenchable fire. Luke 3:16-17. Revelation 20:15.
