I never called Mohler a dumb dog. He is a Brainiac. He is an egghead like Adlai Stevenson. He may be syncretistic like Pope Francis, but there is no doubt of his ability
Indeed. It's quite evident he's very well read. For example, in the message he preached at Brigham Young University, Mohler referenced Flannery O'Connor, Dorothy Parker, The Pew Research Center, sociologist Christian Smith, Peter Berger, philosopher Charles Taylor, Karl Marx, historians Will and Ariel Durant, Pitirim Sorokin, French Intellectual Pascal Bruckner, Barbara Defoe Whitehead, USA Today, Antonin Scalia, Augustine, and "back to Flannery O'Connor again".

That's an impressive list, but I'm a bit puzzled how USA Today made the cut. :Biggrin

Here it is, what a message he had when Brigham Young University welcomed him to the pulpit:
Albert Mohler in his message before LDS cultists said:
A revealing article appeared in the health pages of USA Today, announcing that Viagra is now a prominent factor in divorce among the middle-aged and older. As reporter Karen S. Peterson explained: "Nobody claims Viagra causes affairs or divorce. But increasingly, it is a factor in both, says Dominic Barbara, who heads a Manhattan law firm with 15 attorneys. In about one of every 15 or 20 new divorce cases, somebody mentions Viagra, he says."

Oh, I read the linked speech in it's entirety. Quite enjoyable.

But I wouldn't presume to consider someone well read based off of their USA Today subscription.;)

(And I'm a big Flannery O'Connor fan, by the way.)

That is false. As stated, look at post 128. Or, if you need it, I can post a picture of it for you later.

And I have no worries about their job security. As a Christian, however, I am concerned for the truth. You are sharing wrong information, either knowingly or unknowingly, and passing it off as truth.
