Good article -- too brief -- but that is the nature of a blog.
I have a chuckle every time I hear someone make the comment, "We don't need all this doctrine and theology. Just give me the Bible and Jesus." They often make VERY theologically-driven statements, but because they've been conditioned to dislike the IDEA of theology or doctrine, they don't even realize that the things they are saying ARE theology or doctrine.
We can have biblically-driven theology and doctrine or we can have philosophically-driven theology and doctrine, or we can have "I like this..." driven theology and doctrine, but it is theology and doctrine nonetheless. How much better for our theology and doctrine to come from solid exegesis of Scripture in context, with a view to holding the consistency of the entirety of the Word from beginning to end. :thumbs:
