    Got it.
    I've learned that some hospitals do provide an application for assistance if you let them know there's a need. I've done this before and it still left me with a big bill, but it was a major relief from what the bill started as. It doesn't take away from the individual bills from each doctor, but does drastically reduce the hospital's own charges. It would be worth going to the billing department and at least asking about that.
