Will a Christian ever go to hell?

I have been following this discussion and a question popped into my mind.With this question before us and many of the other questions we have along theological lines, do you think God is fair to laymen ?
A layman gets saved through faith in Jesus Christ.At that point he does not have a full theological education.He/she is not proficient in three Biblical languages.At which point is a Christian layman responsible for knowing all this?

By dying on the cross, He has not only paid the price for our eternal salvation, redeeming us at the great white throne, but He has provided the grace that we need to overcome sin in this life and obtain the prize of the millennial reign. He doesn't just want us to have life, He wants us to have abundant life!

4 - If i sin after salvation does it make Christ's body sinful seeing as i am bone of His bone and flesh of His flesh?

Your taking a picture too far, brother. You are not literally Christ's body. We are positionally sanctified by Christ's sacrifice merely by believing. You can't erase that sanctification. But that does not guarantee that we will live a holy life, and that we will not be punished for disobedience. Your sin does not make Christ sinful, however it does make you a disobedient child of God.

FTR, i'm not saying that a saved person can get by with sin(nobody can), just that they are God's and nothing can change that.He may have to kill them for their sins in the flesh but NOT their soul.

*Ro:8:38: For I am persuaded, that neither death(didn't take it), nor life(living take it), nor angels(can't take it), nor principalities(can't take it), , nor powers(can't take it), , nor things present(didn't take it), , nor things to come,(future can't take it),

*Ro:8:39: Nor height(can't take it), , nor depth(can't take it), , nor any other creature(can't take it), , shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

That covers everything you can think of, notice that was written to people that are saved and born again after the cross.

1 My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
2 And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
3 And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.

These little children are forgiven, verse 12 affirms this. They are saved because of the shed blood of Christ. But we see them being exhorted not to sin, that they may 'know Christ'. If any man sins and says they know Him, they are a liar. Not that they are unsaved, but they don't know Him.

What happens to a Christian that does not know their saviour?

Matthew 7
21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.
22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?
23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

Christians who sin will not enter the kingdom of heaven. This is talking about the 1000 year reign of Christ, or it is saying you will lose your salvation. I think we have already established that you will not lose your salvation because that would indeed make Christ a liar.

the were country folk from the hills of galilee.

They didn't have degrees from universities in Athens or Alexandria.

I must agree. Scripture is abundantly clear on that issue.

we aren't born again until we come up out of the grave as immortal SPIRIT beings. At that point we will be Born Again, and be able to go 'to and fro like the wind' - invisible (Jn 3: 8).

For that which is born of the FLESH IS FLESH.

That which is born of the SPIRIT IS SPIRIT.


Since we are still FLESH, we are obviously not born again.

How can one worship God in Spirit and in Truth if one is not born of the Spirit before one dies in the flesh?

Further, one not born again cannot understand the scripture--which are spiritually discerned. To say that born again is at resurrection is not spiritual discernment. You must be born again--today is the day of salvation.

This is the same dilemma in which Nicodemus, a master of Israel, was confronted. Jesus told him he must be born again. Re: Gospel of John, Ch. 3,the whole chapter.

How do you know that goats are not God's children as well?

Numbers 18:17
But the firstling of a cow, or the firstling of a sheep, or the firstling of a goat, thou shalt not redeem; they are holy: thou shalt sprinkle their blood upon the altar, and shalt burn their fat for an offering made by fire, for a sweet savour unto the LORD.

And what verse says that children of God will never go to hell?

Hebrews 10
30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

Just because we have been taught all our lives that all Christians go straight to heaven and bad people go straight to hell doesnt make it so. The bible is hardly so simplistic in it's doctrine. Christians are going to be judged for their works. The final resting place of the unsaved is the lake of fire, not the pit. There is more going on here than we are willing to hear.

There is more scriptural evidence that we Christians are subject (If disobedient)to chastening in Hell than there is evidence assuring us of no worries.

Jesus died for His sheep--which God gave Him. Allegorically, spiritually and any other way we may try, goats do not fit this plain teaching of God's Word. God does not make mistakes--no goats have their names in the Lamb's Book of Life.

Yes, we are going to be judged--at the "Bema Seat" which has nothing to do with the "second death"--the Pit with everlasting torment.

If one thinks one can be lost after being saved by the blood of the Lamb, one does not understand the Grace of God. It has nothing to do with works before or after redemption.

The most unconvoluted answer: NO-- not in purgatory either.

God chastens His children in this life--not the next--"Despise not the chastening of the Lord...

A Christian's works are judged at the "bema seat" or the Judgement Seat of Christ. This is not about heaven or hell. It is about rewards for faithful service--crowns of glory. There are no lost people present here.

Some will not have many rewards--they are still saved--yet so as by fire--not hellfire--their works got burned up in the fire that tests the "mettle"--to see "what the works are made from"--the flesh or the spirit.

Can you prove this? Bear in mind that I agree that there are no lost people here. But you must prove that ONLY the lost need fear chastisement in Hell.
The Scripture to which you are referencing the Judgement Seat of Christ (JSOC) does not tell us that it is rewards ONLY, i.e. goodies but no baddies. In fact it tells us we will be rewarded for the GOOD or BAD which we have done. Ref; 2 Cor. 5:10.
Notice carefully, We receive THE THINGS done in our body, whether good OR bad. Then IMMEDIATELY Paul reminds us of the TERROR of the Lord. Now can you explain THAT?
Why remind us of the TERROR of the Lord if the JSOC is a rewards ceremony? Kind of a birthday party in which you only get goodies and no baddies. Please show relevant Scripture to your position.

This topic have been debate on salvation for a long time.

Yes, I believe the Bible warns us of conditional salvation. There are so many verses find in the Bible with warnings, no way, we can neglect them.

At other topic- two similar parables being posted about 2 days ago. Matt. 25:14-30 & Luke 19:12-27 tell the same passage about the servants.

I ask you few simple questions, who gives one talent to a servant, but servant does not use the talent?

Does, Christ give one talent to a UNbeliever?

Who is the servant?

Dr. Bob does not think these parables are part of the doctrine. Yes I do. According to 2 Timothy 3:16 says, ALL scriptures is given to us, that is profitable for DOCTRINES.
Also, Paul says, preach the word - 2 Tim. 4:2.
Doctrines always are important starts with from Genesis to Revelation, even with every parables always apply to us as doctrine.

Both Luke 19 and 25 talk about the judgement day, everyone will give answer to the Lord about our life and works at the judgment day. No one shall escape from the judgement day.

Yes, I believe Christ warns us, if we do not obey him, and not serving the Lord nothing will send us into everlasting punishment according Matt. 25:30.

Often, osas saying of John 10:28-29, no one shall pluck us out of God's hand - security salvation. I agree with John 10:28-29. OSAS do not really emphasis verse 27 much at all. Verse 27 tells us, any person who hear Christ's voice(God's Word), and FOLLOW him, same as Christ promises us, He will hold us of salvation LONG as we stay follow him all the way to the end. OR.... what if we stopped follow him, He might loosed us out of his hand.

Bible commands us we ought always be fear of the Lord, and obey, follow him all the times, also, we must be holy, because He is holy.

Obivously, there are many verses telling us of conditionals. We must obey His Word.

Everlasting fire is for unbelievers, unjust, and DISobedient too.

Everlasting fire is for believers, just, obedient.

See? There are two groups which will go on the roads to heaven or hell - Matt. 7:13-14

Entering narrow road is not easy according to Luke 13:24. Most people would easy give up, quit fighting, and return back to world again, will not stay on the same track. Most of them are on the way to destruction - everlasting fire.

DBT - a parable is part of the Bible. But divide (make a straight cut) in using the Bible for 4 different areas: doctrine, reproof, rebuke, righteous instruction.

Not ALL Scripture is "doctrine". Simple fact.

And teaching christians who believe WILL be condemned to hell is EVIL, VILE, and HERETICAL.
