Will Animals be in Heaven?

I think there is enough evidence to lean toward the conclusion that they will be in heaven but I cannot be for certain. A few passages dealing with animals in the afterlife are as follows.

2 Kings 2:11 (NKJV) “Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven.”

Revelation 5:13 (NKJV) “And every creature which is in heaven and on the earth and under the
earth and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, I heard saying:
‘Blessing and honor and glory and power
Be to Him who sits on the throne,
And to the Lamb, forever and ever!’”

Isaiah 11:6-9 (NKJV) "The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb,
The leopard shall lie down with the young goat,
The calf and the young lion and the fatling together;
And a little child shall lead them.
The cow and the bear shall graze;
Their young ones shall lie down together;
And the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
The nursing child shall play by the cobra's hole,
And the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper's den.
They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain,
For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord
As the waters cover the sea.”

Isaiah 11:7-9, "The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox. The nursing child shall play by the cobra’s hole, and the weaned child shall put his hand in the viper’s den. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the LORD as the waters cover the sea"

The Bible says that God owns the animals and controls them. It also says he will RESTORE the creation. This probably means that he will restore the animals as well. Personally I find it hard to believe that God would not want animals in heaven.

That is a very good subject. We will be in eternity, probably on earth, because of the righteousness of Jesus Christ and His work on the cross. We as humans, everyone of us, has consciously sinned, in addition to being born in sin and the curse on all Creation. Animals to not have the intellect to intentionally sin and die because again, they are part of the cursed creation. Now, while I believe there will be animals on earth in eternity, as far as it being a one for one exchange like humans, I do not know. Do all animals that die, which they all do, will they be there, or does their existence cease and the animals in eternity will be just a new creation? Just speculative questions.

It may be determined by what heaven consist of.
It seems to me that heaven is a condition in which we may be in a place or places but no matter where we are at any time we are in the condition of heaven. The condition cannot be in us against our will so it seems reasonable to me that we each are willing to play a part in Christ Jesus, such as being kind, gentle, brotherly love etc to those we meet each day.

I believe animals are in heaven because of one simple reason. That is they only respond to what we are. When they no longer fear us they will not attack us or run from us. It is believed that wild animals came and lay down close to Jesus on the Mount of Olives. I believe that is very likely the case.

I Can't Believe Any Other Way...

.... when it comes to animals that serve the role of pets, it would be speculative on my behalf, but I do believe that our pets will be in heaven!

Revelation 5:13 - "And EVERY creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and ALL that are in them, hear I saying, "Blessing, and honor, and glory, and power, be unto Him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the lamb forever and ever."

I have a firm belief that God cares for our pets, and while I have no actual verses to support my views, there are also NONE to disprove my opinion, either! So, I have to draw upon what I've witnessed and one is the healing hand of God in our family pets. And if He is willing and able to answer prayers for our pets, maybe, hHe is also capable of getting them over Jordan to reunite with us?!

Most recently, our dog, who doubles as my service dog, had a bladder full of stone [all sizes]. And according to the X-rays and the vet, he was totally surprised she was till alive; especially because there was no room in the bladder for urine, and considering her age - two months shy of 12 years old - we needed a few things to fall into place [I call them miracles] if she was going to be saved from being put down!

The first obstacle was coming up with the $2,000.00 for the surgery. Not chump change to people on fixed incomes ... BUT God came through without a bat of the eye!

The second obstacle was the surgery blood panel. She has had some problems with cholesterol and liver enzymes in the past, and with her age, the vet was not sure she could make it through surgery, unless her blood panels came back in stellar condition! Again, God answered that prayer, causing even the vet [who we've had for more than 23 years], to blink and say, "that surprised me!"

Once the money fell into place without costing us anything, but a huge thank you to the party who wrote out a check to cover the surgery, and the blood panels came back like those of a dog half her age, I had complete confidence that prayers had been answered, and the actual surgery was never in doubt! And it wasn't!!!

Does God care for the little guys He gave us as friends and reminders of His ability to love and be loved by, I have no doubt...and even though many said our pets will not be in heaven; I tend to believe them to be wrong?!

I have seen too many things that pets do for humans, to think that God will leave heaven without their presence, be it here on earth, or somewhere, up there or out there!

Now this is just my opinion, but I have a hunch we will be rejoined with our furry, lap friends! In fact, I think all of our kiddos are waiting in that heavenly condo, just for us to catch up with them on the path where they left us for the brief time they've been gone!

There are some species that are intelligent, and have the capacity to not only love humans, but serve to draw humans to God!

You can believe what you want ... that is your choice! But, don't expect me to believe your views, EITHER! This is one more thing we will have to wait and see. It isn't and should be a "Deal breaker ... but the truth is, I happen to believe that God has eternal plans for ALL of creation, especially the animal kind! Shalom! :smilewinkgrin:

So if pets go to heaven, rats, snakes, squirrels, lizards and every other creature goes too, because I am sure someone has a pet rat in this world or a pet snake. So it would not be fair if your Fido goes and my pet roach don't. Contrary to a lot of beliefs man is not going to heaven to hunt rabbits with dogs or tree squirrel with dogs or fish. Heaven is occupied by people that love the Lord and their eternal time will be to worship Him. Also I don't find in scripture any where of a resurrection of animals when the resurrection of the just and un-just shall happen. In the op these animals mentioned is figurative speech.

No we will spend eternity on earth along with animals.

Which brings up the question of Heaven. Will it be in the stars or on earth? Some authors say heaven will be on the earth and others in the stars. All I know is that it will be with God.

So you do not believe in a literal millennium? You do not believe Jesus will ride a white horse from Heaven? These are not figurative but literal. You speak like an ammillennialist. Are you?

Animals were created for sacrifice. The clean ones, anyway.

There is no more sacrifice.

All nature was created to teach us of God and his eternal power and godhead.

Then we will know as we are known.

We're told that eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, and the mind of man cannot conceive of the things that God has in store for those that love Him. Thinking of one's pets in heaven is a very low thought of heaven, even for the mind of men.

So you can sacrifice a whale? A tarantula? A Octopus?

...We had a cat once and believe it probably went to hell.

ROFL...we've two cats, one that's really cool, the other one's works are evil. The thought has occurred to me several times to send it on it's way to wherever it is destined for.

In all these post it seems clear to me that we believe in flesh and blood bodies including the animals as being in the kingdom and no matter what we do here we will be perfect there. hhmmm.
