John 6:44 says it is God who draws, or leads, people to Christ. We cannot do God's work. However, for those who are born again, God's work in our lives should be so evident that we serve as arrows pointing the way. The truth of Christ should be so evident in our lives that people will have to purposely suppress the truth they see in order to refuse God -- in line with their reaction to creation itself in Romans 1.
We can answer questions; we can live the truth; we can pray; we can love others -- we can show Christ, but we cannot do the job of God Himself. People choose their own reactions to the truth -- to God Himself.
The Bible says, as Scott already mentioned, that the only reason a person goes to hell is for unbelief -- refusing the truth and preferring the lie.
