What an honor!... And can you tell us what her name was?... Brother Glen:)
Yes Antoinette… actually they will use that as the child’s middle name… so the name chosen is officially Sophie Antoinette. My cousin also did that with their daughter, I.E. using my mothers name “ Antoinette” as the middle name. Antonia is her actual name on her birth certificate but I ain’t tellin! We already got an “Otto” so enough with the old world European names already! What ever happened to Tom, Mary, John, Bill, Jean, Jim ?!? I’m shutting up now… :Speechless

Those names had flavor like Marie Antoinette... Ditch the drama... Just be glad they didn't name them something like Apple, Moon or Energy or something related to the earth or nature... There are plenty of those around without being one, named after my Dad, middle name from my Dad's Dad... And the generation goes on... Gave my son, my middle name... Brother Glen:)

Forgot… you is from California… where my tomatoes, grapes & wine come from… you don’t have dibs on the beer though, that’s from Germany where they still got standards.

Try this song

This is an old type of singing style... It was done because a lot of the members couldn't read or afford song books... Maybe Kentucky has heard it but he must be the one to tell you... It is called lining out a hymn... The one who starts it lines out the first stanza... Then the others in the congregation and the liner sing, what he lined out... When finished with one verse... He lines out another until the complete hymn is done... If he is the only one that lines out, or there is another who lines out, I don't know?... As you know our church sings acapella and everyone has song book to sing out of but back in day before I was born hymn lining out was a practice, in some areas of the country... Its good to hear that old style again, its very rare, how rare?... See below...Thanks my brother... Brother Glen:)

Since slaves (and many whites) could not read and the number of hymnals was limited, they "lined out" or "raised a hymn." This style of singing had been established in the colonies in the 1640s.

Thanks for the Inf, I have a friend in the hills of Kentucky…. Maybe you know him as Old Regular who sent me that… he is the realMcCoy if you will who is lived up in the Applatian Mountains

They still baptize in rivers and line sing. Old Regular and his church line sing and he and his family are very pleasant down to earth people. He helped me along on BB but hated this place so he left.
