Agreed, but it was not protecting the world from tyranny that caused them to go to Hell. If living longer would have resulted in them avoiding Hell, then God would have seen to it that they lived longer.

Only faith in Jesus Christ can save someone. I wish it was only the length of time one had on this earth . . . then again - I might not make it that way.

    God bless

There is a difference in turning the other cheek and then enabling and supporting tyranny.

Christian ethics do enter into it. I'm just saying that we are allowed to discuss world events in the Politics forum, viewed through the intelligence that God has given us, and on the life events that God has allowed us to experience.

Well, not having been in charge of anything larger than a work detail myself, am not expert in grand strategy. But if negotiations fail I think that an air strike on the nuclear facilities would at least set them back a few years. Oil prices would go up, but then everything has consequences, even inaction.

. . . My fear is Iranian hunger for power

. . . They were the original home to the Arians (Hitler's chosen race).

The main reason Iranians got rid of their Shah was because he wanted a new Persian Empire. Never have figured that one out - yes he was a creep. But, there was extreme opposition to his building a new Persia.

But, what is being built now? A nuclear armed Persia. And that is scary, because this Persia is led by muslim fundamentalists.

And America has never done that! The CIA supported Bin Laden at one stage, now they cannot find him! Really!

It's world politics. The mind boggles why Saddam was not just taken out with a snipers bullet.

Live by the sword and you will die by it. The world is at enmity with God. God's will is for people to be saved through the Gospel, it's the only way for reconciliation with Himself. Let's spend billions on bringing people to Christ. It won't happen, why, because it is world politics.

It is not the task of government to spread the gospel.
