Will President Obama Abolish Rush Limbaugh?

The 2008 election has yet to be decided, but one thing is clear: If the Democrats win the White House, expect an all-out attack on talk radio. Political talk, as we know it, could end.

If they win, Rush, Imus, Savage, Beck, and dozens of other major hosts will be muzzled by using federal regulations to control political talk.

So, what's their plan of attack?

The public's airwaves do need more viewpoints presented besides right-wing radio shows.

The big boys, such as Rush Limbaugh, won't be hurt. It will the smaller audience shows that will go by the wayside to make room for more diverse viewpoints.

The alternative view points have the same opportunity to be spoken and heard as does the conservative. I wonder why libs do not push for fairness on television.

There needs to be more in the way of conservative viewpoints on TV, especially PBS.

Has CBS discontinued broadcasting? How 'bout ABC, CNN & NBC?

Or aren't these considered "airwaves" since they use different frequencies than radio?

Or is radio the only medium that reaches the masses?

Seems that public interest is whats driving this medium, not lack of views - the libs are free to compete where-ever and when-ever.

Opps, forgot! Libs depend on Gov't to do their work: they do have some problems competing on level playing fields.

Folks, Al Franken's Air America is dying a long and lingering death. There just isn't a large enough market for liberal talk shows.

In my opinion, if I want to hear from the left all I have to do is turn on NPR. With a little bit of diging around there are plenty of net radio sites of the liberal bent.

I'm sure he would do his best to silence conservatism, but he won't be elected. America won't elect a black man. IMO

You could end up being correct, hillclimber1. Sadly, there are still more than just a few racists in the United States. :tear:

There is no evidence that America would have trouble electing a back man

Like Jeremiah Wright. :tear:

Like Jeremiah Wright is true however what makes him less harmful is we all know what he is. What hurts the nation more are the many closet racist which won't stand up to be counted and won't wear the union label.

I have to agree with Revmitch on this one. How could you say America would not vote for a black man when they have been voting in droves for him during the primaries and he is on the cusp of the nomination. I know voting in the primaries and the general election are two different things, but do you think everybody that has voted for him so far will change their mind if he wins the nomination?

There is little evidence because it is politically incorrect to state it openly.

Hillary Clinton is saying it - in so many words when she says that she can get the "white" vote.

Since Republicans tend to vote for Republicans, if Obama gets the nomination, it will be "racist" Democats that will keep him out of office if he loses.
