Last year, after a century of being a male gender only program, the Boy Scouts were bullied into permitting gay males into the ranks of their once exclusive male program.

Now that they morally capitulated to the LGBTQ pressures, and opened their program to gays, they are now wimping out and permitting transgendered children into their program!

As a former, Commissioned Professional Boy Scout, a lifetime member of the coveted Order of the Arrow, and aI attained the rank of Life; but now I am greatly disappointed with the organization, and if in fact I had a son, or sons, I would not sign the parent permission slip to let them join. FURTHERMORE, if my church sponsored a Boy Scout troop, or Cub Pack, any association with that organization would be severed.

What would you do if your son was in the scouting program, or if your church sponsored a troop????

I've wrestled with this. My son joined last December but has not participated (band obligations). I do not think that we will continue because of their position on this issue. The reason is consistency in teaching our son to stand for what is godly and not participate or support evil. We do not shop at Target for the same reason, and this is a good teaching opportunity (as we had looked forward to a few trips this summer).

I do not think that churches should sponsor the scouts because I do not believe this is the purpose of the church. A church should not be "yoked" with secular institutions. But, this is up to the individual churches. If it were my church, I would protest.

I was a scout for a couple of years but left for our church's RA program (they were more active than scouts and helped facilitate fellowship in our youth program).

If the particular troop has an open homosexual or a cross-dressing girl, absolutely not. Yes, there are alternatives.

Does the Scout's decision require local troops to allow morally bent people to participate?

Actually there are several other alternatives:
IN addition, there is AWANA as well.

I do have one question: could a local chapter of the Boy Scouts refuse to accept a "trans-gender" girl?

Good question. I understand that they can refuse, but, I think when this happens, that church and chapter will more then likely have a few dozen television news units parked outside their building with a large group of LGBTQ protesters marching and shouting for that church to be sanctioned for their homophobic practices.
