Will You Get Bored?

Are we going to ever be "bored" in heaven?

After three and a half million years do you think our Lord will announce something like this..., "Well, folks that's it"? "I've exhausted all of My stored up blessings and excitements"? That He will have to start over? That perhaps now we can begin to travel His unending creation such that will put the Star Trek folks to shame?

Personally, I am convinced that our Lord in infinite. That His blessings and excitements will never end for us who will be in Glory.

What say you? Will we ever get bored?

Now think about that for a few moments. An "infinite" God who has no end! No, I don't believe we will ever get bored.

...all the while some believe they have cornered the market on Biblical Insights regarding the nature, depth and all-encompassing scope of our Lord. I don't think we have even a little fingernail stuck in the iceberg.

Isn't it exciting? We serve an infinite God. Praise the Lord.

When God created Angels...He wasn't done.

When God created man...why should we think He's done even then?

Just speculation but I think Eternity will continue to see the same pattern, and that God's creative power will likely begin a new "project," so to speak. It may be that our role in Eternity may be similar in nature to that of the (Holy) Angels at this time. But no, I do not expect to be bored, lol.

Heaven is a transitional state before the heavens and earth are redeemed/recreated.

Being made in the image of God, humankind has the creative impulse and we are destined to reign forever with God (Revelation 22:5) in the vast universe He has created. There will be much to do and many other people to do it with. Life will have purpose - more than we can know in this life - and the intimacy between redeemed and resurrected humans will make the intimacy found in marriage pale by comparison.

No. Boredom is borne out of lack of purpose, creative stimulation and engagement. Those things are part of the Fall. Those things will pass away.

I don't know if this can ever be understood in a finite body with a finite mind. I find myself going, "what if I just want to sleep one day?". Can I take a break from worshiping? :laugh:

I don't we can come anywhere close to understanding what it's going to be like to have a glorified body that never dies.

I've often wondered, will those bodies need to eat and drink? Were the bodies of Adam and Eve pre-fall glorified or just without sin?

We aren't going to "Six Flags Over Heaven" where the rides and thrills would soon become second nature. We are going to be with the Eternal God and I think there will never be a time where, of Him, we will not be saying, "Wow!"

It's always been my belief that we'll have a completely different perception than we have now. You ask how we'll feel after 3.5 million years...but remember that we're told (in proof that Revelation is a non-linear text) that an Angel will set one foot on land and one foot on the sea and declare time to be no more.

Brother, I'm getting too old for the nonsense.

If I were to share on this forum of how I "witnessed" to a person who by all appearances is opposite of my physical design..., otherwise referring to a..., gasp..., how can I say this..., uh, a "woman/female" then I'd have stepped over the line and be considered guilty of making reference to, uh..., well, you know..., uh, human sexuality?

I'm gettin' too old and don't have enough years left to worry about it..., but I was thinking that perhaps I could consider seeking a Yale University Degree..., or something along those lines. I wonder if Yale offers an "on-line" course?

I don't think heaven will be "what's behind door two or one or three". I think all eternity will be worshiping Him who hath redeemed us by his blood. We get a taste of that worship down here when we think upon Him and our hearts are full of love toward Him and our uplifted spirit flows over into tears for His great love toward us and we never want this state to end, but then our flesh pulls us back to this world. One day this worship will never end.

Speculating is the natural thing to do but what do the scriptures say?

Okay, don't get upset with me, Tyndale, but it drives me absolutely bonkers to see this verse applied to the wonders of Heaven. Do me a favor, just read 1 Corinthians 2 keeping in mind that Paul is speaking about the Gospel, not the wonders of Heaven.

The point he makes, in my view (and feel free to correct me), is that Christ was a mystery revealed through the Spirit of God.
