Ok...well it seems I missed another good arguement! I thought this was over last night.

Ok then....in response to one of the main things thrown in my face....about women being decieved.....Woman might have been decieved...but man knew it was a sin...and he ate it anyway.

Yes women cannot create...but neither can man. Only God can!

Going back to the original point .. I enjoy the positive input from both men and women to this group. I get concerned about the way some seem to think that women shouldn't contribute. Almost a case of "I'd rather be ignorant than taught by a woman"

Pesonally i prefer groups that include both men and women, don't find men only groups very useful.

The passion in this issue is obviously strong, look at the number of posts in such a short time.

Did God say that women can't talk or express their opinions? No. But they shouldn't push their thoughts or opinions on men or disagree with men openly.

This is a condemnaton of people who express
their own convictions. This condemnation is
not correct and not wise. In fact,
I am convinced it is often the best posts
that follow the "I think", "I feel", and
"i believe" posts. And too often it is
the pharisaical post that follows "thus
sayeth the Lord". Again, i repeat,
there is never anything wrong with quoting
scripture

Here is an "I think", "I feel", and
"i believe" statement:

My opinion, feeling, belief is that
that opinion of another is WRONG;
it is an incorrect understanding of what
the correct scripture means.

I'm not following your flow of logic.

topic? Personally i don't have much time
for TV, other than watching the weather.
I spend most of my time after caring for
my family and after providing my family a living
and after ministering in my local church --
most of my time is discussing the pretribulation
Rapture on Rapture Ready Board and discussing
various Bible versions on The Baptist Board.

I don't have the opinion that the Word of God
is construed offensive to anybody here.
I've been around reading on this board
and in this Forum for months, and have made
the observation that others who have also posted here
for months actually appreciate the Word of
God. Anybody who read my last post will note
i distinguish between the written Word of God,
the Holy Bible, and people's opinions
(whether or not accompanied by a "my opinion" tag).
I also distinguish between the written Word
of God: the Holy Bible, and the Living Word
of God: Messiah Yeshua.

James 1:19-22 (nKJV):

So then, my beloved brethren,
let every man be swift to hear,
slow to speak, slow to wrath;
20 for the wrath of man does not produce
the righteousness of God.
21 Therefore lay aside all filthiness
and overflow of wickedness, and receive
with meekness the implanted word,
which is able to save your souls.
22 But be doers of the word,
and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

It is my opinion that "man" in this Holy Scripture
refers to "human" and not merely to "male persons".

I have asked you directly, yet I don't see you responding to any question asked by a woman. Do you believe that a woman should not ask or discuss anything on this board when a man is posting on that subject?

The two hi-lighted areas are where I would challenge your reasoning.
1. MAybe the best cooks are women, but men have chosen cooking as professionals, women choose to prove their culinary abilities to their families. Your wife doesn't cook for you, does she.
2. Musicians are not only comprised as conductors. There are many excellent woman musicians. I do have a problem watching a male flutist. Seems feminine.
3. Depends on the endurance you speek of. Woman can run circles around a man when it comes to household duties. Men like to put in their 8 hours, and relax. "A woman's work is never done", quote stated by a woman?

4. The gift of discernment is given to women as well as men I COr 2:14-15, Heb 4:11-13.
5. Men are supposed to be stronger vessels, yet women usually outnumber woman in the church. Men so very easily hand over their spiritual role when they want to do it their own way. Men have a problem as leaders in that they want to lead all, including God.

All Christians are to go into the world and give the Gospel, the Samaritan woman did this. Priscilla also stood by Aquilla and they taught together. Acts 18:26 Mary and Martha were two different woman in what they deemed important. And the list goes on.

As for your statement about men competing for creating life, you are wrong. I have yet to meet a man that would like to go through labor. This statement is also unbiblical in that it contradicts scripture. Gen 3:16

Women can learn in silence, yet participation is not unbiblical. When error occurs in a persons belief, to stand by idly and allow that error to continue is sin, for all christians. My posts reek with humility and meekness

I don't know what Pure Words has been posting that has been removed, but I would point out that there have been a lot of personal attacks against him. I know he's been quoting his opinions, but he's also been quoting the word of God. And suddenly everyone gets offended.

Pure Words has posted against women posting on the Baptist Board, yet when asked to respond to some of the reasons why, he simply won't respond. His arguments have been contrary to scripture, tho he may have some valid points in certain areas. Usually, out of simple respect, a person will at least answer to some of the statements they make. They don't have to change their mind, nor do they have to ever post again.

The only logical conclusion to make in this case is that he has either not been on today, [I have edited my accusation, he's not been posting today ]

I just want to say as a woman...I don't think most woman want to be equal to men...And I don't think most woman would say that they were. I like being different. Wouldn't trade how God made me for all the wisdom in the world. I can do anything that I have to...but there are certain things that a man is just better at...like killing spiders. I will only kill a spider in defense of my children...when my husband isn't home...and I would only kill another person(like in a home invasion or war)...for the same reason. I'm glad that God made me different. There is balance in the universe...two sides to the same coin...two genders to compliment each other.

Ever wonder why God made woman and men the way he did? Because He's awesome that's why.

Furthermore...everyone has a right to their opinion. And it's not my intent to try to change anyone's opinion. Nor is it my intention to let anyone else's opinion, change my actions. To do otherwise...well...it won't be happening...so why even discuss the what if's?

It is true that a women is to learn in silence in a church setting or church group. The context was so that Timothy would know how people should behave in church. I had asked my husband the same question and he said that this is an open debate, and he does not think that it is unbiblical for a women to answer a question or tell what she believes in this setting.
I uderstand the concern as I myself am very careful to say anything in my mixed sunday school class. We as women have the big problem of getting emotional about why we believe things and we need to respect and alow men to lead. Men are our spiritual umbrellas,if you will, and we need not fight them,but let them protect us.

I asked my husband the same thing and got the same reply from mine as Ruth did from hers. He thinks it is perfectly all right for me to state my opinions in an open forum and that is what I have been doing and will continue to do.
