“To worship the Lord as guided and inspired by the Holy Spirit, and to do so in spirit and in truth in the fellowship of God’s people is a major concern for us who truly believe the Gospel and who truly love Christ and His people. It is fulfilling the longing of our souls as we desire to glorify, honor, and express our gratitude to God for His free and sovereign grace in saving our souls through the blood and righteousness of Christ. We who are so sinful and unworthy of the least of God’s blessings see this as an opportunity to express our love for God, not only in word, but also in deed. We who are hungry for the Word of God come to be fed with His Word so that we may grow in grace and in knowledge of Christ. We who need the fellowship of our brethren in Christ come to be an encouragement to and to be encouraged by our brothers and sisters in Christ. This is another opportunity to show our love for our brethren. We who are to be able witnesses and good stewards of the grace of God come to show our solidarity with brethren in the truth of God’s free and sovereign grace and to stand against the unbelieving world. We must not view worship as an option that we can take or leave. We must see our worship services as one of the greatest privileges and blessings that we have while on this earth.” — Pastor Bill Parker

It's hard finding a church today that isn't corrupt in major doctrines. All of the Churches in my area promote adultery among their members through divorce and remarriage. Many are "Zionist" with bloody hands. And it gets worse from there.

That is a reason why I am so thankful to God that He has provided a church fellowship about 54 miles from my house, with four lanes and/or divided highway in between, that proclaims His sovereign free grace; and that we, as well as several other churches located in various places in the U.S. that proclaim the Biblical gospel of salvation by God's sovereign free grace, provide a livestream of worship services on Facebook and /or the Sermon Audio website, and that the Bible studies and sermons are available there for viewing/listening by those whom God directs to them as time goes by.

Brother Glen mentioned a trustworthy church some 40 miles from me but it would involve picking up a dependable car and some other expenses. I have plenty to read and fellowship at home with my wife.

I understand. Fellowship with fellow believers of like faith is really nice, though. I remember yesterday morning as I was leaving town that a smile crept upon my face as I thought of what awaited me in about an hour. After the worship service, I and the preacher and his wife and some other believers, who drive in from even further than I drive, go out to a local restaurant to enjoy food and fellowship. We partake of the Lord's supper on the fifth Sunday of months with five Sundays and the church has a fellowship meal at the church building afterwards.

We also have a Bible study on Wednesday nights via Zoom with people from all over the United States, even Japan. We had 27 attend last Wednesday night.

At risk of starting ANOTHER “stink bug” drift ... this has singlehandedly put division in the church body. It is sifting the wheat from the chaff.

Given my Holy Spirit experience in March ‘20 ... I know I have been gifted the truth about this bug and eyes to see the manipulation & deceit by those in power; govt, business ... church.

My struggle as it relates to the meeting with the saints is the consistent lack of direction on this thing/response to ‘this thing.” We’re facilitating this rather than rebuking it. If I weren’t 2000 miles away from John MacArthur’s congregation, I’d be attending there. ... and I can “get around” pretty easily.

So what does your church constitution say about divorced couples?
Are they permitted to be members
Are restricted to what positions they can hold in the Church, if any?

@Two Wings I am not understanding your point. Can you elaborate?

OK ... I know I was “speaking in tongues” with the “direct object” in my sentence ...

covid19 and specifically the response to it.

The push last year into online worship services ... then the return ... and the “encouragement” to wear masks.

Which has “progressed” into a distinct split in unbridled pro cv vax ... and those who are understanding the bigger picture of why to at least be hesitant.

But that conversation isn’t being held in my experience. The presumption is very much like a leftist political philosophy, there’s really no conceptual idea of being anything but quite vehemently ‘pro-cv-vax’ for EVERYONE as the govt dictates via CDC/FDA/MOUSE.

perhaps I’m a bit jaded in my estimation of Caesar ... but I have to deal with his kind in my business ... “without ceasing”

My experience with The Holy Spirit last March (‘20) is summed as such:

—- I was afraid. I was taking measures I will not share here, but suffice to say they exemplified my fear.

—- I was led to Luke 4 ... and ultimately v 30 ... unexpectedly. But gratefully. it spoke to my spirit and I was no longer afraid. For the last 20 months, I have been following the example of Jesus Christ in this.

—- my challenge NOW is to continue to crucify “the old man” and show the grace shown to me.

....

When I substituted for my pastor back in August during mens’ bible study ... I was confronted head-on about the “whacko” way of thinking. (Cv vax hesitant) ... I saw the opportunity and I tried to be gracious. I avoided being personally offensive, but I DID try to inject a redirect of a poor analogy. The member (a veteran) used his experience with all those “mobility shots” ... to which I reminded him I had taken a similar series over my career ... and NONE of those are like this one.

I have tried to return when my “ox wasn’t stuck in a ditch” (working on Sunday) ... and the sense is the same. Perhaps that’s my issue I need to lay down ... have a greater display of grace, but the issue STILL permeates the experience ... from the platform/pulpit.

So ... worship service is a struggle for me to remain in the spirit and offering to my All in All ... when the noise level isn’t simply a crying baby.

@Two Wings We have no such issues where I attend. Vaccinated or not isn't an issue at all. There has been one of the older couples who have worn masks a few times, but not always. God has blessed me greatly by directing me to this congregation.

I don't have a Church mainly because they dismiss scripture on the subject of divorce and remarriage as we discussed before.
