Pretend that a brother was packing legally a Pistol, and right when the Joker openned up, would have taken him out at close range...

Would that have been justified, approved by God?

If you are able to prevent a wrong you have a responsibility to act.

Jas 4:17 Therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin. (NASB)

No! Neither the teachings of the Aposltes, nor the teachings of Jesus instruct us to return violence for violence.

that "logic' works ONLY if one assumes ALl THINGS that happen are directly caused by God! Then he did ordain that was time/method for all of them to die...

Do you believe that?

Since Jesus said "Love your enemy" and "do good to them" and "pray for them", shooting them is not that which is right.

It is in direct disobedience to Jesus' instructions concerning our enemies and our dealing with them.

And should that guy be set free and all charges dropped? If not, how is keeping him in custody loving him? And how else do you propose he should be rewarded?

The child of God is not told to shoot anybody.

The police has the Mr. Holmes, and the courts will decide his fate. Christians should not advocate the taking of another human's life.

What should we do? How about obeying Jesus and praying for the man? that someone might be able to witness to him and lead him to Christ?

2 choices!

Either he was fulfilling the predetermined plan of God here, and should get let go and rewarded

or else God allowed it to happen due to sin in this world, and he would also allow for actions taken to stop him!

Should they have thrown Bibles at him to stop him?

Whomever Thinks Shooting the Perp is a Sin...

...should approach the red-haired perp and distract him with their lives if need be, while everyone else that wants to live escapes and others call the police.

This sounds about right....the question is would pns, SF, AIC, F'sW line up to sacrifice their lives in order to by the time for others to escape and the police to arrive?

While these are situational ethics, it does pose an interesting scenario. I'm interested in knowing how they say they act. Would they back up their earlier bravado? Or simply, run, hide, duck, or try to find a way to kill the red-haired killer?

We'll never know, but it remains an interesting question to ponder!

Cherry picking verses to support being a coward and denying justice as commanded requires you to throw out most of Scripture. I am done arguing with you but will continue to pray for you.

Saying God requires us to shoot the enemy without proof is not proof at all.

I, on the other hand, have given Scripture that refutes the "shoot the enemy" doctrine.

No; you've given scripture that is taken out of context.

I have not given Scripture out of context at all. You guys are advocating using a message of hatred toward your enemy. Jesus said you have heard "love your neighbor and hate your enemy, (which is what you guys are advocating) but I say Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

Jesus taught people to avoid retaliation. You are advocating an action contrary to that which Jesus clearly taught.
