No, if you say the dead in sin cannot hear then how can God command them? Don't you have an answer for that? You will have to ask Jesus

I can only tell you what scripture says and that is that He come not to call the righteous but the sinners to repentance.Did Paul exaggerate? Is it possible for a lost man to please God?
Of course it is still a command. You argue like my children. They are responsible for hearing what I tell them, and if they do not hear then they are still held responsible.Brother Bob said:How can God command men to repent if they can't hear Him? If they can't hear Him then its not a command.

Take you a while but if you are saved you will eventually get there. He has done that: "Be ye perfect, even as your Father in heaven is perfect."
Scripture also says that those who are in the flesh cannot please God. Do you agree with that scripture?Brother Bob said:I can only tell you what scripture says and that is that He come not to call the righteous but the sinners to repentance.

The lost man is responsible for not doing that which he is unable to do, because it is his own fault that he is unable to do it.
P.S. - My children also believe that if they forgot then it was not a command. I sure hope you do not go that far. :tongue3:

Brother Bob said:No, you believe God grabs them by the hair of the head and we believe they follow the Spirit of God to repentance.
Yea, I bit and too big for you to drag in.[/quote]
You do not seem at all too big to drag in bro bob!

Why you resorting to name calling?
The part about forgetting was a joke. That's why there was a smiley.Brother Bob said:I didn't say anything about hearing and then forget as your children and the rest is hogwash, if they did not hear God then He did not command them.
Obviously they haven't heard God's command to repent since they are lost because of their ignorance. So since they haven't disobeyed God, according to your reasoning, why are they in danger of Hell? They are darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of God because of the ignorance that is in them, due to their hardness of heart.
Brother Bob said:Well, when you tell me How God can command men to repent who can't hear him then I will try to answer you anything.
It was darkened wonder how it was before it was darkened? They are darkened in their understanding
This is your theory, so you will have to tell me. But be careful, because if you say they rejected God's command and then became ignorant of God's command then you are back to the "I forgot" defense.Brother Bob said:It was darkened wonder how it was before it was darkened?
