Recently, I completed and published my third book. Because I self published, I need to be my own best salesperson, and beat the drum in order to solicit customers to buy my product.

With that said, I came across an on line publicity company, and enlisted their help in promoting my newest books, as well as the other two! Recently, they finished my web page and set out to make my books highly visible on line.

I was hoping some of you wouldn't mind going to the site and critiquing it, so I know what you, the Christian community thinks of the work they did for me.

If you'd like, please go to the web page @ http://www.scribd.com/doc/56185880/Books-In-Sync-Author-Spotlight-Interview-With-Rev-Paul-G-Zimmer let me know your thoughts.

For you who take the time to review the web page, please accept my sincerest gratitude for helping me to see how others see this site.

I truly appreciate your feedback, comments, and critique!

Shalom,

Pastor Paul :type:

Paul, the biography could use tons of work. It's written poorly and doesn't cast you in a great light. No one takes the "Who's who" lists seriously. No one is concerned with your GPA from 1973. These things don't make me understand why you are an authority that should be taken seriously as the author of this book.

There's nothing in this that even tells us what the book is about. Some of the questions are silly, such as "What makes you proud to be a writer from Perris Valley, CA?". Why can't you just be a proud writer? Why does it have to be "from Perris Valley, CA"? Your answer says nothing about Perris Valley, CA.

I sincerely appreciate you response, and will compile a list of things to fix on the current program. Your candidness was helpful.

Are you promoting yourself..., or the book? What's the first thing a visitor sees when they arrive on your page?

I sincerely hope it was helpful. I wasn't trying to be harsh or rude. I actually work as a book editor for a technical publisher and deal with author biographies all the time. An author biography should let the reader know why the author is an authority on the subject and why we would want to purchase a book written by the author. To that end, your biography did not accomplish that goal.

No, Someone Else is Promoting Me!

Are you promoting yourself..., or the book? What's the first thing a visitor sees when they arrive on your page?

I just wanted to get some feedback on the site this company put together for me. I want to come across professional, but, down to earth, and this forum has a great variety of people who see things from different angles.

I could ask family and friends to do this, but, I may not get honest, candid feedback. This way, I can evaluate what BB members share, and approach my promoter with the changes I would like to see made (in order to strengthen the presentation of the material on the site). I am allowed to make changes, but, if I don't know what the general Christian public sees, I can't make good suggestions.
