Would you be okay with the United States becoming a dictatorship if Donald Trump, or anyone else, gets elected president of the United States and then declares himself to be the dictator of the United States and then bans abortion nationwide?

When is the last time your rulers did not dictate to you? Not in your lifetime nor mine.
God forbad the fires of molech so the question becomes oxymoronic. How do you feel about a bad that brings a far greater good rings weird. Since no other information is provided, I feel great about it. Stopping the sacrifice of the innocent to Satan certainly wouldn't happen under any big name candidate your real rulers provided you though. So the question is irrelevant.

I wouldn't like if Trump or Harris declared themselves dictator.

Thankfully our political system has not gone to a level where either candidate has said they would support a shift to a dictatorship (yes, I know Trump said he would be a dictator for 1 day, but context matters).

But this is actually a good topic - not really current in terms of abortion as neither candidate supports banning abortion federally but because it seems that many Christians want a type of government that imposes Christian values on non-Christian citizens.

The World is "dark". Making the World appear to be "light" does not increase the light we should be.

America's government has three branches. Trump's comments are being misrepresented. At times, Trump tends to overstate or exaggerate or to joke.

A president cannot act as a dictator since the legislative branch controls the money for the executive branch and since the judicial branch also has a role in our government.

Sometimes the balance of power is permitted to be somewhat out of balance such as when a president attempts to legislate by use of executive orders. The legislative branch has sometimes failed in its duties by making vague, unclear laws and by leaving it up to unelected bureaucrats to create the regulations and rules for those non-specific laws. The judicial branch has sometimes tried in effect to legislate or make laws which is not its role.

I agree (I know Trump's comments were taken out of context as well).

That said, each party desires a dictatorship by party (a small group having absolute power).

Each party wants to, and strives to, control all branches of government which in a real sence removes the checks and balances.

We saw this with the Dems trying to influence - suggesting changes to - the SCOTUS due to their ruling on immunity.

We see this with the creation of agencies that bypass Congress in making effective laws.

And we see this with the hijacking of journalism to the point it is nonexistent to a great degree in the US.

We benefit from a representative type of government which results in a compromise that most citizens can live with.

The government cannot stop all abortions, no matter what laws they pass, just like they cannot stop stealing, drunkenness, cheating spouses, prostitution, drug use…. And so on…..

The country needs to recognize our King, not a dictator.

peace to you

Even though I am reluctantly voting for Trump, this is one of the things that makes me not able to even listen to him at all. It drives me CRAZY.

Recently, I found out why he does this.

He explains this in his book, The Art of the Deal.

“People want to believe that something is the biggest and the greatest and the most spectacular. I call it truthful hyperbole. It’s an innocent form of exaggeration, and a very effective form of promotion.”

And there it is. He does it because he thinks we are morons and that this what we need/want to hear.

And, as a former English teacher, I hate to tell him, but there is no such thing as "truthful hyperbole".

Politicians parade their ideas to the ignorant masses.
Teachers today are frequently patsies to the party, molding young minds into manipulative jello.

And, as a former English teacher, I hate to tell him, but there is no such thing as "truthful hyperbole".
I guess you are not remembering of the many times Jesus used "truthful hyperbole."

1) Donald Trump is not the Son of God.

2) Can you provide an example of what you consider Christ using "truthful hyperbole"?

I can't compare Jesus saying "camel through the eye of a needle" with Trump saying, "Our southern border is the worst border in the history of the world." when the Great Wall of China was a border problem far greater than ours.

I'm voting for him, but it's taking all out of me that I have.

Who called DT “son of god”?

the response was to someone using hyperbole
Jesus certainly did, numerous times.
The camel, mentioned above, was a good example.
Perhaps Scarlet was using hyperbole when she said,
“There’s no such thing as,’truthful hyperbole’.”

I think much like Scarlet.

I disagree that DT thinks we are “morons”. He thinks people like to be entertained.

I think of Mohammad Ali and the way he promoted himself as the “greatest of all time”. That phrase is now a common saying for all sports.

Ali modeled his persona from a pro wrestler (Georgious George) from the 1959’s. He said people loved him or hated him, no in between, but they all paid to come see him.

DT is a salesman, and he is all about self promotion, but he doesn’t think we are “morins”

However, just a reminder, the MIT prof hired by Obama to “sell” Ibama care to the American people literally told supporters they were going to “take advantage of the stupidity of the American people”

So, one side does think we are morins and it isn’t DT.

I understand your position and in 2016 I was exactly where you are now. I considered DT a blow hard and likely Democrat mole undermining the repub party.

But not any more. When DT says he loves this country and wants what’s best for it, I truly believe him. He is the first candidate since Reagan that actually believes what he says, imo.

peace to you
