I thought it was wonderful.

Improvised, free form dancing for her Lord. Its beautiful. I wish more churches would allow it. I have visited churches where it was just like this, and was blessed.

The woman in the video was dressed completely appropriatly, and there was nothing even remotely erotic.

And its been done before...

"14 Then David danced before the LORD with all his might; and David was wearing a linen ephod.

15 So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the LORD with shouting and with the sound of the trumpet.

16 Now as the ark of the LORD came into the City of David, Michal, Saul’s daughter, looked through a window and saw King David leaping and whirling before the LORD;..."

And the criticism that some have has been done before as well...

"and she despised him in her heart."

Could you scripturally interpret the dance for me please so that I might be edified?

C4K...

"Could you scripturally interpret the dance for me please so that I might be edified?"

Huh? What you are asking makes no sense.

She was neither preaching from the scriptures nor teaching from them. That probably came either before or after this part of the gathering.

She was worshiping her Lord through her free form, non erotic, dancing. It was a personal thing between her and her Lord. We cant enter into her heart to "interpret" that. But the ones there...and the ones watching the video...can for sure appreciate her heartfelt and beautiful show of love for her Lord.

Its very edifying to see a person expressing heartfelt love for their Lord. I fail to understand how anyone can not appreciate and be blessed by that.

(Comment edited - I need to read more carefully :) )

All I saw was a young women dancing on stage, like I might see at any number of dance shows. To proclaim that as "worship" is guesswork since we cannot, as you point out, enter her heart.

Anything goes these days and people justify any type of behavior in "church" as worship. Sad. :tear:

Todd Bentley and Lakeland. Nice bit of entertainment, but I'm not sure what it has to do with God? 'Nuff said.

It looked like some sort of hypnotic chanting to me.

Todd Bentely is evil.
Amen Amy...Todd Bentley is very evil! That dance was definitely NOT worship...more like a frenzied woman on drugs!

I think I like the dancing better than the barking like dogs.

I do not want these people associate with chrisitans. They are heretics. We need to have an Eccuminical Council and do away with them!!!!

Ecumenicalism is what causes them to be like they are.

Please explain. BTW I was joking well except for the part about I don't want them associated with christians.

Ecumenicalism is trying to bring all into one universal belief system.

These "rockers" in this video claim to be of God, so if ecumenicalism is going to be true to its definition, then they are just as much a part of the church as any other group that claims to be of God.

Truth be known, ecumenicalism is doing more harm than good to the body of Christ because it lets practically anything and everything that claims to be Christian be a part of the Church.

Ok - here comes an idea - Orthodox Ecumenicalism :D - using the "closed fist, open hand" idea that Mark Driscoll advocates.

thoughts?
I think dance and vocal solos, or anything that focuses on the activity of an unordained individual is even more fraught than if done by an ordained minister with the peril of falling outside of being done "decently and in order" - was it decent? Kinda, maybe...

Was it in order? Not to my eyes.

Reckon she was ordained? Not by my church.
