Wrinkly Bible Pages

The first or second pages without print of some of my bibles have become wrinkled. They are house bibles, I don't carry them outside.
I had read that if you put one or two sticky notes on these pages wrinkling will be substantially reduced.
Tried it and the wrinkling has been reduced.
Any other solutions out there?

can they be ironed flat? Those pages are probably sacrificial to help protect the inner pages.

How about a sticky note that is sticky all over its surface? Must be such a thing, like contact paper.

Sometimes defects like these put character into your bible so be careful trying too hard to make things perfect.
I have one bible that has wrinkled pages that occurred in high school. I was outdoors with my youth group and it lightly rained.
I still remember that day and the people I was with, only because of those pages.

But if you want to try... there are a couple of different ways.

FIRST
Simply place the page between two flat, white cardboard sheets and press for a day or two between a stack of heavy books.

SECOND
Place the page on top of a thin, flat cardboard sheet.
Smooth the page out by hand being VERY careful since tears can occur.
Holding the bible a few inches from the iron and use the "Delicate" or "Steam" setting for no more than 2 minutes to soften the page (less time if it is very thin paper) - don't get it wet just barely moistened.
Again but even more carefully, smooth the page out by hand - tears can easily occur in over-moistened paper.
Apply pressure over night.

This is my book press.

THIRD
Ironing on a soft ironing board will work.
Put a lightly moistened cotton towel over the page to insure you don't scorch (burn or yellow) the thin paper of the Bible.
Smooth the page out by hand.
Use a very low setting!

My Bibles are used and abused. Pages are worn and turned up at the corners. Coffee stains not uncommon. Notes written in throughout. Underlined passages of interest. Binding broken in places. The one at the computer has no outside cover at all. Lost it about a month ago.

Of course if I take a Bible somewhere it will be one that is new or at least in good shape.

Can't help you with most of those problems except for temporary fixes.

Nice to read that they are well used.

Perhaps consider one with excellent construction that has a binding designed to take much abuse.

Cambridge is the first name the comes to mind but Church Bible Publishers also guarantees theirs as many publishers do their top end bibles.

Those pages not getting wrinkly because they were used for notes of some kind.

Such as "How we know comes before what we know."

1. Truth originated with God.
2. Truth must be heard to be believed.
3. Truth is not become ones knowledge unless it
is believed.

a. Our personal experience.
b. Witness from others.
c. Logical deduction.
