Christmas by its name is a Catholic Holy Day mass name. In any case it is a reminder of Christ's birth. And in and of itself there is nothing wrong with that, remembering Christ's birth.

Hmmm. Now the intrigue—why aren’t they all called that? Every Sunday is Resurrection Day, and every day belongs to Christ. :Thumbsup

This discussion reminds me of my senior homiletic's class. On a blackboard, Dr. Weeks would show how to outline a message. He used Xian for Christian and X for Christ to save time and his hand. As you can guess, some pious preacher boy took him to task for "Xing out Christ." At which time, Dr. Weeks gave us a brief Greek lesson.

Haha. It’s called being educated in KY!!

Well I know this is kinda off topic but have you brethren seen Jeremiah 10?... Don't think of X-mas much and as as Mitchell said probably use it because I'm lazy... Brother Glen:)

Jeremiah 10:1 Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:

10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.

10:3 For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the ax.

10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

How many of you have a Christmas tree in your church?... Just checking!

10:5 They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
