I will not make an effort to support it biblically, but I have heard more than one Christian leader say that a country, or a people group, gets the leader it deserves. That can be a bitter pill to swallow.

Last election, I hoped Trump would become president. I was not relishing the idea that we deserved someone like Hillary after Obama. Those who were did not react well at all when she lost, nor did she. There were plenty of people who hated Obama's presidency, but they did not react so unbecomingly.

Those that vote Dems into power are very deceived, and so are those who put their hope in man rather than God. I did not vote for Trump because I thought he was good, but because I thought that he would be willing to let God use him for good. I had no illusions that Hillary would have any such inclinations.
So does God Mandate that a government must separate families from one another?

America is not God’s nation and 2 Ch 7:14 has zero applications for this blessed country, none.

I agree on the context of scripture in the case of 2 Chronicles. That said, Amos and Proverbs show that God's commandments are for everyone, not just Christians. The righteous get rewarded and the wicked punished in this world and the next. That the nation that blesses the righteous Brethren and rebukes the wicked will be exalted.

Maybe it is our misconduct as a nation that we get what we sow. Unrighteousness to be ruled by unrighteous. Still, I can't prove it, so I must be careful and prayerful.

Good point. Ask God to show me in prayer what's up with America and it's leaders. Whoa, I have deep sense of foreboding now. This is not going to be fun. Thank you, though.
If you are a child of the Father, thus adopted into His family, you have every right to ask. Ask and it will be given to you. See you are an active participant in His Kingdom but it is His will that will be done in it. All political wrangling aside, all sons of the Father have a right to want what only He can provide... Justice and Mercy.

Just as he chose Obama to be our for eight years, just prior to Trump.
I know the feeling. I voted for Obama as an unbeliever, terrible thing to do. I became a Christian four years ago after being a liberal Charismatic "Christian."

Just remember God is forgiving when we confess our sins, and Jesus Christ intercedes for us when we go astray. It doesn't surprise me that he prospered you.

Since it was God's will that Obama become President, why was it "a terrible thing to do?"

Because I think God can curse us with rulers we deserve in an ironic way. President Obama was a very immoral man. I voted for him for helping people like me out financially, but his social policies were terrible.

God put Pharaoh in charge to make him an example. Nebuchadnezzar was ruler, but was made an example when he was made a madman for seven years. Athaliah was put in charge, but a rebellion sanctioned by God takes her out of power. Ahab and Jezebel rule until Jehu slaughters them by God's sanction. The Judges battle foreign powers that oppress by Gods will. All were God's will, but we must be careful to understand the difference of God cursing or blessing us with His will

Some rulers God gives us are a blessing, others a curse. I believe President Obama was a curse.

President Trump seems a blessing on some issues, a curse on others. I am still trying to figure out what the President is really.

I would substitute the word ‘since’ for the word ‘if’. See I believe we are provided by the Father with some lenience in choosing day to day activities. I don’t believe He selects our leaders for us but if we are of His family then He provides us the wisdom (through the Holy Spirit) to make right decisions.

In that context, was it the Fathers will that Obama be president for 8 years? If it was then wouldn’t the nation have grown in His good graces? Same for Trump, if he was of the will of the Father, how come we are not growing... after all, wouldn’t we be blessed by the Father (who gives his sons all good things).

The signs are all there brethren for those with eyes to see.

So, at this juncture, do you believe Trump is a "moral" man, or an "immoral" man?

I suppose it depends on how we choose to define words such as "grown," and "growing?"

I don’t understand what you are saying. If your in Christ, you are growing spiritually, growing morally, growing in mercy, growing in calm and in humility. Growing in intelligence.... prospering. You are in the kingdom of heaven on earth essentially.

Hmmmm ... so, are you saying we're not growing as a nation in any of the aforementioned areas?
