I fear that by today's definition in the minds of many anyone who does agree with President Bush 100% is a liberal.

Labels. Ive no use for them, and cant imagine why anyone would bask in calling themselves anything but a disciple of Christ, politics or not.

Absolutely. The sad thing is that most people who call thelselves christians would rather win the political battle (denomination, president, culture) than the Christian war for the hearts and souls of men.

I don't agree with the president even 50% of the time, but I know him to be seeking the Lord actively, an surrounding himself with like minded individuals.
For me, his stance on terrorism is all I need to support him 100%.

Does that mean you are a member of NOW, and have sent donations to Planned parenthood and would vote for Kennedy and Frank?

Finally a post from standingfirm that I can agree with. I believe I posted that same passage recently.

That's my point StandingFirm, although some refuse to accept the truth that liberals are self-serving instead of Christ-serving. Christians are supposed to be 'peculiar', according to Peter. We ought not to be conformists, always politically correct, afraid to stand for what is right in God's sight, especially when man's laws dictate otherwise. You can't separate faith and politics - you either believe or you don't; and if you believe scriptures, then you don't put your faith in government to solve this nation's problems. You don't support abortion, our failed welfare system, gay and lesbian agendas, affirmative action or just about any other platform the ultra-left Democratic party subscribes to.

Republicans haven't done a much better job. I'm not giving them a pass. No, Republicans don't like the war in Iraq. We don't want innocent people killed in order to protect ourselves from future attacks on our nation. Neither do Democrats. We all want what's best for our country but we disagree on how to achieve those goals.

I am first of all a Christian. I am an ambassador of Heaven traveling through a foreign world. I've been privileged to have been born in America, but my citizenship and my loyalty lies to my home in Heaven where God rules. I am a new creation in Christ and as such, I have a responsibility to give my allegiance to the One I serve. I must represent my Father's will here on earth and often His will conflicts with the will of the unbeliever. It often conflicts with the will of the majority and it certainly conflicts with every form of government on this earth. Democracy is superior to any other form of man's rule over man, but it is a foreign concept to the Kingdom of Heaven.

Gay people have the right to be gay. God doesn't make it impossible for women to have an abortion. God allows us to elect leaders from among ourselves - but these aren't God's best for us. That's not how He runs things in Heaven. As join-heirs in Christ, and as people who profess to follow Christ, we must do what Jesus did, and Jesus said that He does what His Father in Heaven does. Just because pornography was around Jesus doesn't mean He watched it. Just because people cursed around Him doesn't mean that He cursed them back. Abortion kills, Jesus heals; welfare steals hope, Christ gives hope; homosexuality leads to sickness and death where God's design for a family provides life. In every way God's values differ from liberal values. Liberal values are self-seeking. They question God's motives and presume to be more moral and ethical than His Word. Conservatives may be too legalistic, but our freedom in Christ does require us to adopt Christ-like values. Neither of these two philosopies will help us live like Christ lived. One is doing everything it can to get Christ and God out of our lives while the other at least helps us to obey Him. If we can't love God as our Father, at least let's obey Him as our Lord.

How wonderfully omniscient it must feel to judge all liberals, knowing nothing else whatsoever about them!

I know many liberals, even in the European sense of the word liberal. Many of them are the most others focused people I know. Admittedly, I know very few Christians, but most of the liberals I know are NOT self-serving. They would be more "others-serving" than many Christians.
