Young evangelist attacked by angry homosexual

The case of an assault against a young Christian by a homosexual in San Francisco is garnering national headlines.



On November 14, Promised Land Fellowship church sent 13 members to the Castro District of San Francisco, a neighborhood known for its large homosexual population. The young people gathered at a street corner, joined hands, and began singing "Amazing Grace."

Unfortunately the libs have redefined the word 'hate' to mean anything that espouses God's ideals of righteousness. Thus when we express God's ideals of love and compassion for the fallen, in their minds we are expressing hatred.

I'm in NY. I've never heard this before now. Not so "national headlines" in my opinion and I'm not surprised with the liberal media around here.

So, the young people deliberately went into a district known as a homosexual area and created a disturbance and someone got angry and violence erupted. Where is the news?

Would you go into a district that is known for regular families to pray for homosexuals?? If they're looking to pray for a certain group of people, it makes sense to be where they are. To pray for God's hand to move in that area.

Hey - if homosexuals can come to church and make their voice heard, then we can go to them.

Is that what Jesus did? Or Paul the Apostle?

Jesus walked among the sinners, and he went directly to the the the self rightious and preach to them, knowing they would gnash there teeth.

When Paul went among the sinners, 1 of 2 things usually happened...

A revival or a riot.

Those young people were walking in the same steps as our Lord and the great hero's of the faith from the past....some of whom gave their lives.

God bless those kids.

I took part in the civil rights movement too, but I knew the risks. I didn't foolishly confront white folks in the South, their territory. My job was to get Blacks to register for the vote.

Sometimes one must use the common sense God enabled us with.

If you wish to confront people that is your choice. I will confront people one on one, but not a drunk....that would be foolish. That would be lke stopping a bank robber in his tracks and preaching the gospel to him!!!!!

You are making some very poor assumptions here Jim.

First, they were not 'confronting' anyone nor where they being 'confrontational' by a negitive means. They were there to pray for these people. If this is foolish then may all who call themselves believers become such fools as these.

They did use common sense not to mention love because they were doing just what God had asked of them for those who live in sin even inspite of political correctness or worldly views (not specifically talking about you here but of general views). Again they were NOT being confrontational they were praying.

I give great praise to God for those who will go out into the world both praying and proclaiming as our Lord commanded over those who sit back and hopefully wait for an opportunity to poosibly come. It is a pity when truth, obedience, and love must take a back seat to ... anything that keeps us from being there. And I'm not talking about standing in someones face screaming but being there praying and speaking to those who desire to talk.

BTW - I don't believe we are called to hide away and pray so no one but other beleivers (if they get that lucky) to see us praying for the lost or even each other.

They've been doing what they were doing when they got assaulted for three years now, so it's not fair to accuse them of wanting to be confrontational and cause trouble.

That being said, though, discretion could have been the better part of valor and they should have given thought to the fact that the homosexual community was smarting from having been defeated on Proposition 8 and postponed their work for maybe a couple of Fridays until things simmer down.

I would think that they have rejected Christ and any Christian witness. Like Paul, I would say to shake the dust off our feet and leave these degenerates to their desired fate.

Gotta' agree with DF here! This seems to be a classic case of "pearls before swine".

One thing to remember though, were they following the guidance of the Holy Spirit, or going on their own? Until you can adequately answer THIS question, any assuming is just spitting into the wind!!

Many stupid actions (according to this world's standards) are in line with His will.
