Your By-Laws

Have any of you altered your current Church By-laws in an effort to protect from the various lawsuits based on the recent Supreme Court Decisions?

We have.

After seeing where things we're going as a society, we had a task force of several lawyers and other appropriate lay people sit and provide some language to update our constitution and bylaws. We then sent the reworded document to a couple national organizations to get their feedback before presenting it to our church.

Right now, we feel as though we've done everything we can. If we get to a place where we are forced, by law to violate our conscience and beliefs (which we don't think is going to happen) we will readily suffer the consequences and remain firm in our current positions.

Good for you folks! My church adamantly refuses to do so. They are of the opinion they don't need to do so and that God will not let it happen to begin with. ...amazing. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.
