Blessed Assurance is a song of praise and testimony, not a hymn of worship.

And where did "angels" come from? I'm looking at all the verses again, but missing it! :eek:

I'd Rather Have Jesus

I'd rather have Jesus than silver or gold,
I'd rather be His than have riches untold;
I'd rather have Jesus than houses or lands,
I'd rather be led by His nail pierced hand

Than to be the queen of a vast domain
And be held in sin's dread sway;
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.

I'd rather have Jesus than men's applause,
I'd rather be faithful to His dear cause;
I'd rather have Jesus than worldwide fame,
I'd rather be true to His holy name

Than to be the queen of a vast domain
And be held in sin's dread sway;
I'd rather have Jesus than anything
This world affords today.

"How Great Thou Art" brings tears to my eyes every time I sing it! It is one of my favorite True Hymns.

I think the assurance comes in the first instance directly from God, and the angels merely provide corroboration and confirmation. But I am not privy to Mrs. Van Alstyne's personal interpretation of the matter, you may be right from her point of view.
