I was looking for an option saying "Married to my wife" since that is my current qualification for my pastor (that would be me folks!)

I voted "50-50", although I think "100-100" is a better way to put it since there is no conflict between spirituality and education. Both are important.

I voted 50-50 too because it was the closest to having both an educated and pastors who have a strong relationship with Christ. I don't see either as being mutually exclusive.

Those were my thoughts.

I use this in marriage counseling. Usually, through prodding, they will say they agree it's a 50-50 proposition. Then I tell them they are incorrect. They look confused, and then I explain it's 100-100.

The same with education and spirituality. Some advocate that a pastor should be completely uneducated so he can be spiritual; others go to the other extreme.

To me, the only time either extreme is useful is when I have a question about the Greek (or history or whatever), I would prefer to go to an unbiased, but well-educated source.

I know our pastor intimately, better than anyone. He may be educated (beyond his intelligence) but is not as spiritual as he should be. For certain.

I have no problem with education, but I chose spiritual over education. I figure if the man gives his whole heart and walks close to the Lord, God will give him what to teach and preach and his life will be evidence as to how we all are to walk. That is far better then any amount of education. By the way I really would not want a Pastor who was only 50% spiritual and 50% educated. Being dumb AND carnal is a washout. The churches today already have enough of them.

This poll wasn't what I thought it was. I thought there would be options like:

...is longer-winded than a cyclone
...is like Baron Munchausen in his pulpit stories
...quivers his lips like a horse
...is so stone-faced he should be Lot's wife's second husband
...speaks calmly for 20 minutes, then could etch glass with shreaking for 2
...is such an angel he trips over his own halo
............
