1948 CHEVY SEDAN, ROBIN'S EGG BLUE. PLAID SEATS. PIX OF ME COMING HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL IN IT.

PERSONAL HISTORY
1. What was the first car you ever rode in? I've got the photo... coming home from the hospital... It was black and old so probably a 1946 Ford.
2. What was the first car you ever owned? In ONLY my name? Jim bought me a 1987 Cougar for Mother's Day and we put it in my name. Bright red!
3. What was the first car you ever dreamed of owning? The easiest answer of all.... I wanted and would still love to have a Canary Yellow Camaro, 1969.
4. Has your dream changed? Cars mean very little to me. I LOVE old cars tho. 1954 Chevy's and 1950 Ford Trucks are so great looking!

1. What was the first car you ever rode in?At my age I definitely rode in cars before I was old enough to be aware. The first cars I remember my father owning were a 1962 Ford Galaxy 500 and a 1959 Volvo. I remember the Ford because, one Sunday morning it jumped into reverse and rolled down the hill in front of our house. It would have rolled into the highway save for a providentially placed telephone pole. I remember the Volvo because it had a 4-in-the-floor and my Dad used to let me shift gears.
2. What was the first car you ever owned?My first car was a '66 Plymouth Satellite with a 383 RoadRunner engine. Way too many ponies for a 16 year old as I look back on it.
3. What was the first car you ever dreamed of owning?At the age of five, I thought a '68 Mercury Cougar with the sequential turn signals in the rear taillights was the coolest thing!
4. Has your dream changed? I'd like a shortbed Dodge Ram with a hemi! Or as a classic car I'd love a 57-59 Imperial.

2. What was the first car you ever owned? A black 1949 Cadillac Fleetwood my grandmother gave me after she gave up trying to learn how to drive. A good budy had a black '49 Cadillac Staion=wagon, aka hearse. We were a pair driving those beasts.
3. What was the first car you ever dreamed of owning? I always wanted a Model A Ford.
4. Has your dream changed? Nope, still don';t have a Model A. I do have a 50 Nash and a 62 Plymouth though.

I don't know, I was just a babe and the parents stopped taking pictures after my sister.
A brown Toyota. The brakes were unreliable, the steering shaky past 60mph and it would stall on the freeway entrance ramp. Not a good car, all in all.
I've never dreamed of owning a car. They're good to have if you have to get anywhere quickly, hardly dream material.
Yeah, but, obviously, that's another topic altogether.

Unfortunately I don't remember that car. Mom has pics of me sitting on the hood as a baby with dad holding me, but that is it. Dad traded it for a pink 59 Plymouth Fury (think huge fins) with a Hemi engine in it. I remember that car, in fact it is still on the road, but long since out of the family.
I wish I still had the '49 Caddy, but at the time I couldn't afford two cars, and wanted and bought a new 72 Cougar, when I went off to college. Much better for attracting the girls than an old Caddy.

We never went more than three streets from home and walked everywhere or took the tube.

A 1938 Austin Mini. It went along with my first pastorate in 1947.

Always had eyes on a Jaguar.

I turn the key and "IT" starts or I call the mechanic. That is about my interest in motorcars...they get me from A to B and hopefully back again.

First Car I Rode In: Not really sure. After my mother died in Florida, my brother and I were adopted by an Uncle and Aunt. They drove us all the way to California (1951) in a 1949 Ford with a flat head V-8. We had that car until '59. First Car I Dreamed of Owning: I've always been a car guy since I was a kid. When I was nine I begged for a go-kart but didn't get it so I settled for Dinky Toys and Revell models. In high school I always thought the coolest cars were Jaguar XKE's.
First Car I Owned: '71 Porsche 914-4. I fell in love with Porsches in 1970. I was in the Army and rode in a friend's 914-6. Had to have one after that. Bought the 914 the day after I got hired on my first job. Had it for two years and traded up to a slightly used purple '74 911 Targa.
Has My Dream Changed? I still love Porsches, but now my dream car is one that is paid for and runs at least 150K miles without a repair!
First Car I Owned: '71 Porsche 914-4. I fell in love with Porsches in 1970. I was in the Army and rode in a friend's 914-6. Had to have one after that. Bought the 914 the day after I got hired on my first job. Had it for two years and traded up to a slightly used purple '74 911 Targa.
Has My Dream Changed? I still love Porsches, but now my dream car is one that is paid for and runs at least 150K miles without a repair!

4. Cars don't fascinate me as they once did - but now - if I were to buy the car I really want - it would be a Chrysler Town and Country. That's the Chrysler answer to a Plymouth Voyager minivan (I have a 1991 model) and a Dodge Caravan (I have a 1998 model). It's just a mini van with a great sound system and leather seats!!

3. What was the first car you ever dreamed of owning? I'm not sure, but it was definitely a two-seater sports car. I loved small, agile cars.
4. Has your dream changed? I'm moving toward more practical performance cars like the Subaru WRX or Mitsubishi Evo. AWD comes in handy.

I'm not sure, but the first one I remember riding in was a '55 Chevy BelAire, two tone green (light/dark), 3 speed on the column.
Not the first one I called mine, but the first one with my name on the title was a '63 Volkswagon Beetle, turquois with a cream colored interior.

1. I don’t know but. I do remember my parents owning a 1948 Ford.
2. 1954 Ford Custom. I wish I had it today. in 1973 I was with some friends and I said to them. “Have you noticed all the people passing us?” So I decided to see how fast I would have to go before someone wouldn’t pass us in that old car. I went about 75 mph. That car would flat out fly if I wanted it to. My parents had one earlier. My dad said that he took their’s out in the country and got it up to over 100 and quit because he was afraid to go any faster.
A funny thing happened in 1974. I went for a day to take something to get it fixed in Vancouver, B.C. When I returned the man at the border ask if he could take a look in the car. I told him, “Sure.” He opened the ash tray and looked under the car. But he did not look in the trunk. In those days I stored some of my things in the trunk. At the time I was racing bicycles and had a lot of bicycle parts in the trunk. When I arrived at the border I wasn’t sure how I was going to explain how I had those. But he never asked to look in the trunk. I thanked God for that.
