Your Second Choice.

I am in a BCOQ (Baptist Convention of Ontaio & Quebec) church; although my church is conservative, the denomination as a whole is quite liberal. I'd love to join a church associated with either:

FEBC (Fellowship of Baptist Church in Canada)
CCSBC (Canadian Convention of Southern Baptist Churches)
AGC (Associated Gospel Churches of Canada)

G'day Author Thanks mate. On thinking about it instead of just buying the name "Baptist" if they went under Down Under, I'ld probably have to invest in your "R Us!" addition to it too

Good IFB churches are becoming harder to find. Ours, as others have stated, are not denominational. I would have to ask a church planter to come start a new one, but if IFB's were eliminated, I would consider a good Messianic group, probably.

I think in reality I would continue to seek a church that best reflects the Scriptures. I know she would be out there because Jesus said so, "I will build my church and The gates of hell shall not prevail..."

It may not be a church with a name I am used to associating with, but as history has proven, churches that were considered 'Baptist' may of been identified by some other name. Church historians have actually identified 'Baptist' churches in the past to names as 'Cathari, Donatists, Novations, Anabaptists, Lollards,' and many others.

So if we were forced to go seconds I'd look till
I found that Baptist Church. However, I do not think I could go to a church that opposed essential foundational points. So I may have to be like Abiyah who said, "I'd sit home and pout."

I would probably go back to the United Methodist Church, since I've been there before.

 

Methodist, Lutheran, or maybe even Catholic.

Evangelical Free. It is the denomination I grew up in. I "became" SBC by marriage when I joined my husband's church after we married. The doctrine/theology of the EFCA is the closest to conservative SBC theology/doctrine out there. I know many SBC professors and pastors who have also concluded that they would join the EFCA if the SBC weren't around.

 

I'd have to do some research, becasue I don't know enough about anyother Baptist church to choose one, I would probebaly never be anything but Baptist.

 

Evangelical Free - or an Independent Bible Church - along the lines of Grace Community Church, where John MacArthur is pastor.

I have a mate in Sydney that says Genesis 13:9 suggests that Abraham and Lot were the first Baptists "Is not the whole land before you? Let's part company. If you go to the left, I'll go to the right; if you go to the right, I'll go to the left."

As I have read through the responses, it seems that some would go back to what they were familar with from their past. I suppose that would be the same for me. I would return to an SBC church as long as the SBC still remained on the conservative path they have been on.
Clearly and accurately presenting Christ is of primary importance to me so I would look at the doctrines preached by any new church.
