Again a different debate, I am in 100% agreement with that.

So you also agree with certainty that every single person that is a catholic is bound for hell and there are no exceptions to this?

i think what the folks here are trying to say is that a person can be catholic and be saved. but once they get saved... they will come out of the catholic church and find a church that teaches the Bible.

Jesus said, "if you love Me, you will obey My commandments..."... and "why do you call me Lord, Lord and do not obey My commands..."

catholics dont obey Christ period.

are they obeying Christ when they:?

pray to Mary (necromancy forbidden by God)
"eat" the flesh of Jesus (cannibalism forbidden by God)
pray the rosary (long repetitive heathen prayers forbidden by God)
place tradition higher than the Word (manmade tradition condemned by God)
ask a sinner (priest) for forgiveness for sins (only God can forgive sins)
recrucify Christ afresh in the mass putting Him to a public shame (when Heb 6:6 forbids it)
venerate (worship) statues, relics, idols and icons (breaking God's command)
pray to the pope (making the pope omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent)
change the Word of God (forbidden by God in Rev. 22)
call Mary a co-savior (blasphemy!)

guys the list goes on and on...

the papacy is that man of sin. the son of perdition. an or THE antichrist.

they are the ONLY church to fulfill the prophecy of Rev 17.... ("the blood of the saints"...)

anyway... it sounds like most agree... catholics can be saved (Hey! i am one of them...) but if they get saved... they will come out of that false church and become obedient to Christ instead of the pope...

one last thing... just because catholics follow the pope instead of Christ does not mean they are bad people. most everyone i know is catholic and they are all "good" people... but being a good person does not make one saved... it makes them good in other peoples eyes... but other peoples opinion does not matter as far as salvation goes. only God's opinion of a person matters. God makes the final call. God chooses, elects and saves. those are the folks who go to heaven.

one last thing x2...

dont forget 2 Thes 2:10-12

2 Thessalonians 2:10-12

10 And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.

11 And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:

12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

many catholics do not love truth. i know... i am married to one. so if they are hostile towards the truth... God may blind them further...

if God blinds them... then only God can help them...

I'm new here. Just started today. Seeing lots of angry posts against Catholics-actually quite a few threads on Catholic topics.

Is this an anti-Catholic site or something? Just asking.

just to clarify... NO bornagain blood washed person (whether baptist, protestant, whatever...) has a problem with catholics (the people).

the catholic people have been deceived and/or blinded. they are not to blame unless they hate the truth... see 2 Thess 2:10

please dont confuse "romanism refuting" with "catholic bashing"...

the papacy (over the centuries) has realized that if they can make their "flock" take "romanism refuting" as a personal attack... then they can convince their flock (1 billion +) to become catholic apologists...

the papacy although evil and satanic in every way... is very smart. they teach their flock to look at everything "personally" when it comes to the church.

the papacy wants their people to get offended when somebody questions the dogmas of the rc church.

a true sheep loves his family but also loves his enemies... and will not "bash" catholic people... the catholic people are not the problem... its the false doctrines of their false church system and their leader, satan.

After being here only one day, I am stunned by the amount of hatred here--especially toward Catholics. My goodness, this is disturbing.

No one responded the the content of my post or the Scriptures or even the issues. Aren't we to search the Scriptures? Are we not called to love one another? Am I only going to be accepted here if I say that Catholics are not Christians?

What reason have you given me to stay for a second day?
I think it is ironic he shows up the same day a catholic admitted deceitfully signing up here, and then said he was leaving. Hmmm....

I'm not espousing anything. I only said I don't know of Catholics who pray to Mary. I can only tell you of the people I know. I'm not Catholic. I'm not espousing their doctrines. What is going on here? I really don't understand.
I grew up rcc, my mom's entire family is rcc, and yes, they pray to mary, as taught in the rcc. if you know catholics then they are praying to mary, if they aren't, they aren't as catholic as they claim.
is asking God for help praying?
if so then asking mary for help is praying to her too.

This is a copy of a post I just sent to moderators.

This one day on the forums, here, has been one of the most disturbing experiences in my Christian life. I have been accused of being a Catholic in disguise, and of not even being a Christian. I came here, stating up front, that I am a Baptist, who has been questioning things for years.

In one day, forum members have managed to tear apart any fragment of hope remaining regarding the Baptist Church. At least, now I can leave the Baptist church and feel at peace about it. You have helped me make my final decision.

I leave these forums with no ill feelings, only a profound sadness. May God bless each of you in your Christian walk. I'm not sure where to go from here, as far as finding a new church. I do know that the visible love of Christ is a definite requirement for any church I would consider.

So, I will say goodbye.
LOL, your going to leave the baptist church because of amessage board? pretty weak faith there isn't it.

That is a bunch of garbage. She came on and intro'd herself as questioning the baptist doctrines. Now why would anyone intro themselves that way. Then she goes directly for the catholic threads.

She is a catholic and a dishonest one at that. She came on this board with an agenda and now wants to play the victim. It is time for her to grow up.

...and now, she's back at Catholic.com trashing us to all her fellow Catholics.

She's insisting that she was banned for being a Catholic and because we're "afraid of hearing the truth" when the truth is that the moderators were kind enough to allow her to stay even after she admitted that she lied in order to circumvent BaptistBoard's membership requirements, and even though she told us in her last post that she was leaving of her own free will.

1. [/COLOR][/B]I've had many discussions with Catholics and have Catholic friends. I do not know of even one, who actually prays to Mary.

Seriously? The words "Hail Mary, full of grace" don't ring a bell for you?

They may ask for her help

Funny, but my Bible seems takes a pretty dim view of contacting the deadto ask for help.

Jesus also said, "unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you;" and "my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink." So, do we accept His Words as spoken? Are they literal or symbolic?

Symbolic. If Jesus was speaking literally, He would have pulled out a knife, cut His finger off and passed it around for the disciples to eat, not given them bread.

I am rather perplexed by the way certain passages of Scripture, such as the creation story in Genesis, are taken literally; and others are reduced to allegory.

There is no allegory in scripture. Perhaps you're thinking of metaphor.

I don't think we can condemn our Catholic brothers and sisters in Christ, because they accept Christ's words, literally, as spoken. I do not see how this is teaching a different Gospel.

In itself, it is not. However, as a whole, their view of justification is heretical and profoundly Unbiblical.

As for the Pope and Apostolic Succession, I need to do more study on that issue. I do admire the unity in belief of the Catholic Church.

Actually, there are more than 240 sub-groups within Catholicism that hold to differing doctrines.

There are times when I feel like I am drowning in a sea of Protestant voices. There are so many disagreements within Protestantism.

Please name one doctrine the Bible defines as essential that Protestants disagree on, name the Protestant groups that disagree, and how they disagree.

So I'm not sure how well we are doing.

I have attended churches where Baptist ministers required far more loyalty to their teachings, than the Pope expects from Catholics.

I have seen some disturbing practices with Protestant TV Evangelists connecting sending them donations within a certain time period to receive your own financial blessings. So, Protestants have some issues regarding money, also.

Actually, those men are a part of the WOF movement, which is an abberant movement, not Biblical Christianity.

I do believe that Catholics are Christians. From some of the angry posts against Catholics already posted here, I have a feeling some of you may hate me as well.

Right. Because disagreeing with someone must mean you hate them.

She told us she was not catholic

I know. Evidently, Catholics practice their own brand of Taqqiya.

In any event, she's now back at headquarters posting as "Teneas".

I also agree with your suspicions that "Questioning Baptist" is a Catholic. I post with a lot of Catholics on another board and each one of her arguments is right out of the Catholic playbook. They're almost word for word the same as arguments I get from the Catholics there.

After looking into it, it looks like you win the prize, Mitch.

Questioning Baptist is a Catholic troll.

She posts on Catholic.com as "Anna Scott" and in post #154 of the following thread...

http://forums.catholic.com/showthread.php?t=415240&page=11

...she tells Teneas (aka""fignar", another Catholic troll who just left us), "I was going to join and help you, but you had to leave, before I got approved. I'm sorry, my friend. I don't think I would have done well there, anyway--considering my last experience with a Baptist forum on another site."

It worked for me (maybe it was fixed before I got to it).

It's interesting that someone mentioned going to a Baptist church but then put in the qualifier "after fulfilling the obligation to attend mass". That is because, without going to mass, they would have not been in a state of grace and would have not gotten into heaven but instead would have to pay for that "sin" in purgatory. That is such a sad state of affairs. I can attend any church I wish for fellowship whether it is a Baptist church, a "Community" church, an independent church or even a denominational church without fear of losing my relationship with Christ.

What a liar. You should be ashamed. You'd better run fast to confession and hope your priest can absolve your sin.
It's hilarious they are over there playing the martyr. I see revmitchell is doing the investigation over there

I think this is rather sad. We have several Catholic folks here on this board who, whether we agree or disagree with them, are respectful and gracious, and great contributors to this board. I do not believe these recent issues should reflect badly on them.
