Pretty simple, What is you're favorite book of the bible and why?

I know some smart guy is gonna come in and say all of them.. lol :)

Mine is Ecclesiastes ( I'm actually in the process of memorizing the whole book 1 verse a day.), Mainly because it was the first book of the bible I ever remember reading and knowing that I was reading the very words of God, How it seems to nail the reality of death is absolutely incredible to me.

When I read it I was living for drugs and sexual immorality, the book completely plowed me.

my favorite verses are:

Ecc 2:11 Then I looked on all the works that my hands had wrought, and on the labour that I had laboured to do: and, behold, all was vanity and vexation of spirit, and there was no profit under the sun.

Ecc 3:11 He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

Ecc 3:14 I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him.

Ecc 5:10 He that loveth silver shall not be satisfied with silver; nor he that loveth abundance with increase: this is also vanity.

Ecc 6:11 Seeing there be many things that increase vanity, what is man the better?
Ecc 6:12 For who knoweth what is good for man in this life, all the days of his vain life which he spendeth as a shadow? for who can tell a man what shall be after him under the sun?

Ecc 11:4 He that observeth the wind shall not sow; and he that regardeth the clouds shall not reap.

Ecc 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.
Ecc 12:14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether it be good, or whether it be evil.

My goodness, it really depends on what I'm into at the given time or what I'm going through.

I can recall telling people over the past years that any of the following were my "favorite": Genesis, Esther, John, Galatians, Job, James, Psalms ....

There are,as we all know,66 books in the Bible. There are short ones (under 10 chapters)17 in the O.T. and 12 in the N.T. That doesn't mean we should minimize their importance because of their brevity --but there are 37 longer ones.

To narrow it down to only one book from the entire canon is asking too much (or is it asking too little?)

How about amending the OP to ask for our favs in the Old Testament and the New?

I choose Psalms and Romans.

OT - Psalms
NT - Hebrews

If I'd have to pick one I'd go with Psalms

I don't know, Psalms, John, Romans, Hebrew, pick one for me....

You 'James people', Luther called your book an "epistle of straw", why'd he do that? :)

I never thought about any of them in terms of a favorite. If I were to pick it would most likely be the book of the Psalms or Revelation.

Like said before this is more of a reflection on Luther than Scripture. Do have any background on this? I'd be very interesting how he could draw that conclusion.

Revelation--because it tells about the final destination of the devil, the beast, the false prophet, "And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire."
