COMMON GROUND COFFEE HOUSE #71

Yes, tater, but they won't make Dan's insides glow like they want them too....that is, of course, unless the burrito's were "nuclear"! LOL

Dan, been where you are, Brother. In fact it was October. I can empathize with you very much so. I get to face this same proceedure in April. YUK!

Morning all:

Was so sick yesterday, I called the pastor and told him neither Viv nor I would be there. I was running a 100+ fever, and so was Vivian. I was in bed most of the day, and am probably going to end up there again today. I've been up since 2am and am not really doing much better. Viv went to work, but she's not sure how long she's going to stay. If we're not any better by tomorrow, we're going to try and get into the doctor. Thanks for your continued prayers. This "up and down" weather hasn't helped any of us, I don't believe.

Ya'll have a good day if I'm not back on (and even if I am...LOL)

Good morning all:

I am feeling MUCH better this morning! I had a really good night's sleep (didn't get up until 5:30!) and the coughing has subsided a lot.

I woke up to snow-covered ground and it isn't supposed to stop snowing until tomorrow sometime. Where, oh where is SPRING???

Time to get dressed and get Brent up. He always goes to the corner with me and sits in the car and does his Math goals for the day.

Cruising,

Tony, go to the doctor now!

Dan, be a nice boy, take your medicine and let the doctor do the rest.

Tatertot, you are so wrong. They don't taste any better.

Morning all. Glad to hear Sue is feeling much better. Did Brent snap out of whatever he was trying to catch?

Tony, I wish you'd call today and make the appointment. You can always cancel if you're MUCH better by tomorrow!

Ty's still asleep on his pallet at my feet. His parents let him stay up very late and don't give him naps Friday, Sat., or Sun. and he screamed all through Sunday School and church yesterday so he's worn out! We've been in here for quite a while with Nick playing one of his games and me drinking my tea and checking emails...

UGLY day here and it's supposed to be much worse.

Pastor,
We make the family trek too, most Mondays. Must be a preacher's family "thang".

We'll be going to Mobile sometime today. My dentist appt is at 8am tomorrow, so we are going tonight, and visiting w/my mother and grandmother. The girls can hardly contain themselves.

Hope yall have a good day and that the sick 'uns can get some rest and get to feeling better.

Good Morning everyone!

Tony, I'm with Diane, go ahead and call the doctor!

Sue, I'm glad you're feeling better. I hope you didn't get a chill on the corner this morning. Drink something hot when you get in.

Good luck with your test Dan.

Diane, it always amazes me how parents can stand their kids when they don't get enough sleep. Mine were completely contrary if they didn't get their naps. They tooks naps even if they thought they didn't need too!

Walmart huh, PSBC, T and I did that Saturday. It was wild and not even the first of the month! I feel for you.

Well all, my house is a wreck this morning and T hasn't even left for work. I guess I had better go start the day! I'll try to pop in long about lunchtime.

Moving on......

Gib, I would go to the doctor now if I could drive. But, I can't. Vertigo is a terrible thing to enjoy...LOL (**trying to have a sense of humour here**). But, I know when I call to get a refill on my kidney med he'll make me come in for a visit. So, Viv will have to take time off from work either late today or all day tomorrow.

Gibbers, you're also right about Krystals...YUK!

My house is a mess today too. I've just stopped for another quick cup of tea. Ty finally woke at 10:00 and he's picking at his breakfast wanting to burp for me.

I have to get everything done today because I get trapped on Tuesday (and Thursday) when I have the wild 2 year old.

Ugly day here too. The snow you folks down south are sending us has just arrived, although a little late. Streets are just wet, and it looks more like rain than snow from my window here on the 13th floor. Have to wait and see how it pans out. Maybe they'll send us home early??

Looks like February will go down on record as SNOWLESS in Casper. Ugh. We NEED moisture and it keeps shooting by south in Colorado.

And heading to ILLINOISE, Sue!!

End of month, so lots of work at the clinic even though it is a Monday and I'd like to recoup from the efforts of church yesterday. Preaching IS work, in spite of what the deacons think!!

Only thing WORSE to do would be to go to the doctor. Or to WalMart . .

The snow arrived last night and it is still continuing as I type. Not supposed to stop until sometime tomorrow.

Thanks a bunch for not stopping it as it went over Wyoming...

It's wet and quite raw here even tho the temp is in the low 40's. Tomorrow will be very windy and some snow possible in parts of nothern Georgia. It'll pass quickly tho... and spring is only days away.

I don't know how our pastor can preach 3 sermons each Sunday plus visit different classes during Sunday School and disciple on Sunday afternoons! I think a preacher has a harder job than most fellas because it's really a 24 hour a day, 7 day a week job!

Now Wal-Mart........ UG.. no thanks! Especially on a day like today. Everyone will hear the word 'snow' and fight over milk, bread and bottled water.

I never have understood how people automatically go to Walmart. There is an enormous 24-hour Walmart Supercenter 2 miles from me that is always crowded. However, I can park right in front of Walgreen's, Drug Warehouse, (they both have some groceries, too), Homeland, Aldi's, and several other small grocery stores. I can be in and out in far less time than cruising for a parking space or waiting in the checkout at Walmart. The prices are very comparable, too.

Karen, we have 4 Super Wal-Marts and a couple of Sams Clubs in our area. The prices in the stores here AREN'T comparable to Wal-Mart. Though I hate to shop there, we do it. But, we no longer go into the two in Murfreesboro. We shop at the smaller one in Shelbyville. It's much less crowded, and far more friendly. If I could find another store (like Aldi's, which I grew up with in Illinois...and there is one about 35 miles from here), I would go.

My wife and I go to Walmart because with 3 almost 4 children it is much easier to go to one store and get everything than to have to go to 5 stores and continually get kids in and out of the van, etc.

I know many people do not like Walmart, and you are welcome to your opinion and thoughts. But it really isnt going to affect my family trips to Walmart once a week

PSBC, I think we have to do the best we can with the money the Lord allows to cross through our fingers. If it means I can give more to the Lord, then I'm shopping at Wal-Mart. Until there is something that is comparable or lower in costs, I will continue to shop there no matter how much I dislike it.

Well OUR Wal-Mart is always packed because we only have a few grocery stores in town and no other type stores. Going there for milk or bread can take forever! I hate the self help aisles and that's mostly what we have.

AVL1984

That's what the ones in Murfreesboro and Nashville are going to. They are increasing the # of self help aisles every week. The one in Shelbyville isn't, though. Thank the Lord for that!

I really dislike the brand of chicken Wal-Mart offers here. All we get (last time I was shopping) was Butterball. It doesn't taste like chicken to me!
