And then, while we are at it, start taxing the Catholic Church. No more Mr. Nice Guy… and make them pay reparations for funding this invasion. And make it hurt!

Im sorry but your not facing reality. Our country has been hollowed out from the inside. The true “Powers that Be” are moving their money away from the G7 to BRICS. That might be a slow transition but it’s happening in real time. We have givin our manufacturing and a lot of the tech development to the Chinese… just what do you think can be done to right this ship?

What I’m suggesting is to give these people a path to citizenship ( not an easy one but a n opportunity none the less). Immigrants have always looked for opportunities to serve this country and in return be legitimately recognizing. My own clan has fought and died for this country. One of my hero’s came from County Cork Ireland and joined up at 16 as a paratrooper, fought in WW2, lost his leg and we put him in a Memorial Day parade as the grand marshal. He earned it and much more if I can be honest. He also served as a substitute father to me after my own dad died. So why should we not give these people the chance to live a respectable life same as afforded to us…of course, there is a price to be paid.
I disagree that the military should be a path to citizenship.

Instead, I believe since the US allowed them to enter illegally we should offer a path to citizenship that includes a background check. Once they are legal resident aliens they can serve if they want to serve.

The problem I have with using these illegal aliens for military service is this is no better than the Democrats who want them as slave labor.

Once they have a legal status then let them choose to serve in the military or not to serve in the military. Keep it a volunteer service.

Im also apprehensive about allowing people into the military without those people having patriotism to our nation.

My God, man open your eyes…they are slave labor now. And patriotism is something that comes when an individual realizes that they are fighting for something greater than themselves, IE a home country where their families can access certain means& privileges not afforded to them in their own sorry countries. The price in to commit to the country their very lives as a proving ground to legitimate citizenry. But you don’t want to do that. You want a world where we just deport without thinking through what they came here in the first place for…to make a better life. Why your just playing into the hands of liberal democrats who want a subculture of cheap labor in sanctuary locations throughout this nation. And why may I ask are you so stuck on this miserable status quo?

I know they ate slave labor now. I've said that repeatedly.

That is why Democrats are opposed to deporting them. They even said so. They want slaves to work the fields and clean their homes.

But I also know history and what happens when people are accepted in a nation while maintaining an identity with that nation.

Do I just want to deport people who illegally entered our country? Yes.

We are not talking about people seeking asylum (that is a different category). We are talking about peoole who want to make a better life for themselves.

BUT at the same time many are destroying our nation, killing our citizens, robbing our peoole, setting up gangs to operate within our nation, etc.

BEFORE admitting anybody to our nation we need to know who these people are. There has to be a screening process.

Illegally entering our country puts our citizens, our children, at risk. Maybe most entering illegally are good people, but by entering illegally they create an opportunity criminals capitalize on.

Make a program where these people have 3 months to report for a background check and application for residency. After 3 months deport any you find who did not apply. Give those who pass a background check resident alien status.

This gets rid of the criminals.

The Democrats would hate it because it also gets rid of the slave labor they enjoy.

But don't, as you suggest, simply open our borders to allow everybody who wants to come enter without knowing who is entering.

And I live in a sanctuary city, there hasn’t been an escalation of violence and crime by anyone much less than these people. I guess if they were trafficking drugs but nope… all is quiet. Only the white guy down the road was arrested for cooking & distributing meth. Right next door to the county prosecutor’s house if you can believe it :Smile:Laugh

I was actually thinking about this last week.

I was in Japan. It seems that the US is the only nation where peoole think illegal immigrants should stay.

I like Japan, but I had to carry my passport, let them know where I was staying and when I was leaving. If I decided to just stay then Japan would kick me out.

Same with Germany. I lived there for 4 years while in service. But you can't just go there illegally and stay.

ICE isn't there to protect the community, except that some of those here illegally are violent criminals. All, however, who are here illegally are criminals.

It is a civil offence to overstay a visa, but it is a felony to enter the US illegally.

Those who object to law enforcement enforcing the laws of the US should try to change the laws rather than complain when laws are enforced.
Very correct. While in Japan for 33 years, I had to carry an "Alien Registration" ID wherever I went, and the police were empowered to ask me for that ID at any time or place. Our missionary visa had to be renewed promptly every 3 years, or we would be shipped back to the US. And you'd better carry all the paperwork you can when you apply for that--and invariably would b asked for a paper you didn't have.

I've been to several other countries, and you'd better carry your passport all the time in any country I've been to. Once we were on a 7 hour layover in S. Korea. Took a wonderful bus tour, but due to an official's error on the date we were subject to close examination. Those people are rightly paranoid because of N. Korea. We weren't even allowed to take a photo of the president's palace.

I was disgusted at the policy relaxation under Biden, and am still disgusted at how liberals excuse known criminals being kicked out of the country. Unbelievable!

Just in passing, Robert Heinlein's classic SF book, Starship Troopers, only military veterans were allowed to be citizens! (BTW, don't watch the movie. It's absolutely awful, and massacres the story line of the book.)

The strange thing, to me, is that until Biden both parties were adamant about deporting illegal aliens.

I do not understand why this changed in so short a time, except maybe the GOP focused on the issue so the DNC automatically took an opposing position.

I was reading about Japan while there. A foreigner can buy a home, but that doesn't give the person the right to actually live there. I found that interesting.

I'm with you on that. Even after Obama the Democratic party has gotten more radical--think "crazy"!

Yeah, we always rented, though I had a missionary friend who bought a home. It's complicated. For one thing you have to have a permanent resident visa, hard to get, before you can get a loan. When we went to apply for that, the lady at the city office was all for it until we said we were missionaries. Then she said, "The boss would never allow it!" That was even though it was not legally prohibited.

We will soon be entering a conflict with Iran now. Our enrollment's are down. If it escalates then will we call for a draft? I don’t think we have one since ‘78. Now what.
The last draft call was on December 7, 1972- Thus no man was inducted after 29 Dec 1972 (the 31st was on a Sunday). Therefore any draftee would be discharged no later than 29 Dec 1974. However, earlier in 1974, DOD directed than any man who had been drafted would be discharged from active duty by Thanksgiving 1974. (a draftee could extend or re-enlist at their choice.) Effective 1 Dec 1974 ALL personal on active duty were part of the All-Volunteer military!

Bottom line is the open boarders movement is just another way (actually a clever way) to destroy the United States.

And the USSR (Russia) is in no rush - they have plenty of patience. But Americans tend to be very inpatient! - When they pray "Lord give me patience and give it to me now!"
