Keith, THE KJV has no contradictions on John 5:31 and 8:14 because 2 words are DIFFERENT, but modern versions have contradictions on both passages because their 2 words are SAME. You are not careful to look closely.
False? No, you are mistaken. NIV has two SAME words, "testimomy." The KJV has two DIFFERENT words, "witness" and "record." I did not see the contradiction on the KJV. You posted the KJV showing no contradiction here:You falsely claim the NIV contradicts itself in John 5:31 and John 8:14. Of course if that makes the NIV an invalid Bible translation, then the KJVs are just as invalid.
If I beare witnesse of my selfe, my witnesse is not true. John 5:31 1611 KJV
Iesus answered, and said vnto them, Though I beare record of my selfe, yet my record is true: for I know whence I came, and whither I goe: but ye cannot tell whence I come, and whither I goe. John 8:14 1611 KJV
I agree. Jesus has no contradiction on the KJV, but He has the contradiction on modern versions.Askjo, and Jesus makes two totally different statements. He does NOT contradict Himself.
Can't you see "SAME" phrases but "not" on Genesis 2:17 and 3:4? God warned Adam if he ate the fruit, God said:You erroneously compare Gen 2:17 and Gen 3:4. Are you claiming these verses contradict one another in the NIV? If that's the case, the same contradiction is found in the KJVs.
The Satan, the serpent tempted Eve saying,But of the tree of the knowledge of good and euill, thou shalt not eate of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof, thou shalt surely die. Gen 2:17 1611 KJV
Look at God's statement and Satan's statement: Were they same? No, you know that. And the Serpent said vnto the woman, Ye shall not surely die. Gen 3:4 1611 KJV
My error? No you make a mistakes. Did God tell Eve not to eat the forbidden fruit or they will die? No, God told Adam only before He gave him a new wife, Eve.If you take the time to read these verses IN CONTEXT you'll see your error, Askjo. In the first verse, God is telling Adam and Eve not to eat the forbidden fruit or they will die. In the second verse, Satan is tempting Eve to eat the forbidden fruit. Satan coaxes Eve to eat the fruit by telling her exactly the opposite of what God has already said. The only contradiction in these two verses is Satan's contradiction of God's word.
Correct. The only contradiction in these two verses is Satan's contradiction of God's word.
Correct, I know that. The KJVs are NOT perfect
