Wow! Creating a false either or scenario so as to justify Obamacare is sick, evil, ungodly and disgusting. Just pure evil. Did I say it is pure evil? Because it is clearly purely evil.:BangHead:
Evil??? How do you come to that?
One of the toughest questions being asked today in health care is when does it not make sense to treat a patient. Do we put a pace maker in a 95 YO patient with cancer? How long do we leave someone in a comma on life support? The reality is it will cost more if we want to insert the pace maker or leave people indefinitely on life support. End of life care is a serious issue here and now.
Obama's grandmother with cancer broke her hip so he has some first hand experience with this situation. The insurers didn't replace her hip. Before you ask, I have no opinion on did they do the right thing or not. That is not why I brought that up.
Currently these decisions are being made by the insurance companies executives who are profit driven. I don't like that any more than I like the bureaucrats in DC making these decisions. If I have insurance from your company and have my premiums paid to date, how is it you can drop me when I get sick? These are serious concerns and situations where the free market fails the society.
So I believe the GOP has a valid point when they speak of rationing health care but I believe the facts regarding rationing are too complex and shouldn't be used in this manner. America overwhelmingly (71%) want reform and it would be nice if the GOP would let the 71% openly discuss these challenges facing our society without the fear of being assigned a dirty name (socialist etc...) for having an idea. That is non-productive when it comes to solving our problems.
We all know it takes less courage to say NO and try to ignore our problems than to admit we have challenges and be willing to sit at the table of discussion with an open mind and beneficial suggestions and work to solve them.
