The term patriot defines a person quite clearly. Two catagories exist. One group believes the status quo of today is normal. They believe there is a difference between the two parties, and parrot the party line of one or another. They give no thought as to why we do not follow the Constitution anymore, nor does it bother them that the politicians in Washington rob the American people instead of serving them. It usually makes them good when one party replaces the other in power, as if something has been accomplished. This is the non-patriot group.
One the other hand, citizens who realize that our country has been steered away from the Constitution by both parties, that realize that the goal of both parties is to keep 100% of the power in this country, and that in reality, they are one entity, are patriots. They are generally conservative, believe leaders should serve and not rob, and actually believe leaders of this nation should have some similance of moral fiber. They are for limited government, and believe in a return to governing by the Constitution. They are patriots. They believe in an honest government, free of corporate and foreign influence. They believe in individual achievement and reaching further than the horizon. They believe in accountability.
I forgot to address the imagination of the non-patriot, which is not the horizon, it is the end of the nose.
