It's not yielding to it that is the problem for the Calvinist, it's understanding what God has said. Quit listening to Calvin and start looking at what the Word of God says, which is something Calvin evidently didn't understand.
They have to come up with nonsense like this or their doctrine falls apart. Any time you attempt to twist the Scripture to fit a doctrine it doesn't contain, you have to go to these ridiculous explanations or admit your error.
I don't believe the church was ever helped with your brand of Hyper-Calvinism. In fact, I feel this has been one problem the church has had to endure. I will fight against this error in every church I attend!
It is an invitation. Only a Calvinistic twisting of the Scripture makes it any other thing.

I believe this is an heretical statement. This makes God responsible for sin, which is something He cannot do. This is what I call Hyper-Calvinism, something I will stand against until my dying breath!
I disagree. Calvinism requires twisting and denying of plain Scripture in order to appear to be scholarly instead of following the clear commands of God.
They just take the Word of God at face value as opposed to the typical Calvinist, who looks more to Calvin and his ilk.
The more I learn about Calvinism, the more I am amazed that people believe it.
Just the fact that Finney causes the Calvinist to object so vehemently causes me to like him even more!

To argue with a Calvinist is futile. Don't even try. If they cannot see the plain teachings of Scripture that says that Christ died for the world, it is hopeless to try to get them to see the error of this particular doctrine.
When someone at church starts talking this nonsense, I just smile and enjoy watching them attempt to fit this false belief into the teachings of Scripture.
After many years you just hear the same old semantics over and over again. Now if you really want to anger them, just quote the Scripture and watch their reaction.
