Luke...
You have it completely wrong. It has nothing to do with certain people being "better". Its the lost who have the "I'm a good enough person, I think I'll be good enough to make it" mentality.
We who embrace Christ do so because we recognize our depravity and sinfullness. Christ died to pay the penalty for every sin ever commited, or will be commited.
Gods saving gosple if justification through faith alone. NOT for just the "lucky ones" that God supposedly "elects", but rather for the "who soever wills"
As I understand "arminianism" it is what I just articulated, and NOT the erronious view that you articulated.
It has nothing to do with being better. It has to do with recieving Gods mercy.
Yes. Luke, Christ is the one who said...
No. I came to Christ because I knew that I was an "undone" lost , wreched person. A sinner.
No, no no.
I came to Christ because I was wretched.
No. I came to Christ because I knew that I was wretched, and undone.
Because God gives every person who ever lives the opportunity to turn from sin, and pridefull self sufficientcy, and turn to Gods provision, found in Christ.
How can a wreched man be better than others?
You are erecting a strawman.
Luke...
If you believe that you are going to heaven because you made some decision that billions do not make then you believe you are going to heaven because you are in some way better than those billions who did not make the same decision you made.

That is what Arminianism and this new nameless theology the IFBers gave us teaches.

If you were not in some way better then explain why you get to go to heaven whereas billions of others do not.
It has nothing to do with being better. It has to do with recieving Gods mercy.
You'll want to say at this point- "Because I chose to respond to the Gospel call and they did not," or something like that.
Yes. Luke, Christ is the one who said...
And the Spirit and the Bride say "Come! And let him who hears say "Come! And let him who thirsts say Come! Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.
But the question is WHY did you respond and they did not?
The answer is that you are in some way better than them.
No. I came to Christ because I knew that I was an "undone" lost , wreched person. A sinner.
Maybe you are better than the damned because you are wiser than them and with that wisdom you made the wise choice that they foolishly did not make. But wisdom is better than foolishness. So you are better than them.
No, no no.
I came to Christ because I was wretched.
Or maybe you'll say that you made the choice and they didn't because your heart was more sensitive to the Holy Spirit than theirs. Being sensitive to the Holy Spirit is BETTER than being hard towards Him. So you are better than them.
No. I came to Christ because I knew that I was wretched, and undone.
Any way you slice it, when YOU are the determining factor concerning whether or not you go to heaven- iow, God has done all he can do now it is up to YOU- then YOU are the one who makes the BETTER decision.
Because God gives every person who ever lives the opportunity to turn from sin, and pridefull self sufficientcy, and turn to Gods provision, found in Christ.
Therefore you are BETTER in some way than the billions who perish.
How can a wreched man be better than others?
There's no way around it.
You are erecting a strawman.
