All of his ideas sound like atheism to me. Especially because, he doesn't know where he will spend eternity and he certainly doesn't like the idea of someone praying for him. Why contact God for anything.
Personally as a Christian I need all the prayer on my behalf, I can get. Like so many of the knowitall people today there is not any love of his fellow man in his abrasive tone. He is all "Me Generation" and desires to put an end to Christianity.

Uh..excuse me? We do not know? That is outright wrong and ungodly. But it doesn't suprise me a "progressive Christian" would say such a thing.

We in fact can know:

1Jn 5:13 I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God that you may know that you have eternal life.

We know because the word of God tells us. This question is not a 'cliche'.

Rom 10:9 because, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved.

You are one of my favorite posters, so we will just have to agree to disagree. Over the years, I have found that as a delay tactic for the lack of courage to say no. I take comfort in the fact that 99% of the time we are on the same page.

PPlease don't get me wrong. He has great points. Nevertheless, when Satan tempted Jesus in the wilderness after his 40 day fast, his points [questions and temptations] were well worded and worthy of considering! We need to recognize that this man, as Tom pointed out, does not have any certainty about where he'll spend eternity, and that more than likely means he also doesn't know Jesus as his Savior.

This man should be up for a Cabinet postion with the Obama Administration

I would list patheos.com as one of the "Ten Websites Christians Should Avoid". It's a bitter antifundamentalist website that often creates its own caricature of fundamentalism and then criticizes the caricature.

 

I read the blog. Based on what this guy said and what he believes (what's on his fruit tree) he will bust hell wide open. He doesn't even believe that Jesus died for his sin. That is very clearly taught in the scripture.

 

Any Church Who Considers Sitting at this Table....

.....and breaking bread with this guy and his thoughts will quickly see what those of us who have stepped back due to the huge red flags we saw in the first few words of his to beliefs: This is the epitome of atheism, rooted in secular lies.

The sad thing, there will be a great number of believers who will think this is wisdom at its best, and try to adapt and accommodate the ideas into how they approach the lost around them, and when they begin to take on this guy's foolish wisdom, they will become like many in the church, a toothless witness, lacking the quality needed to win souls for Jesus.

I rebuke this type of teaching and its line of thoughts as it is only being put out there to slow down any attempts by the saved to reach the lost.

By posting a photo of the TBN founders, I almost thought he was credible...THEN I read #2....any man that doesn't know where he will be spending eternity HAS not been right in telling me how to share the giver of eternal life.

Lights out....this guy is pure heretic, and a lost cause. If I ran into him, I'd most definitely go after him, using all ten cliches in an attempt to win him to Jesus. However, he would be like the man Jesus told us about, and I know I'd eventually be shaking the dust from y sandals and going on down the road!
