Congressmen are better than ordinary people and they deserve the best.

"Suppose you were an idiot. And suppose you were a member of Congress. But I repeat myself."
- Mark Twain, a Biography

"It could probably be shown by facts and figures that there is no distinctly native American criminal class except Congress."
- Pudd'nhead Wilson's New Calendar--Mark Twain.

One of the talk shows reported the prez already took care of this, he had the finance dept. fix it by giving a 75% break on healthcare for all congress and their staff.

Believe it was Pelosi that said they were underpaid and that they deserved much more than they were getting.

Not only should Congress be forced to accept Obamacare, each of them individually should have a copy of the entire law stored in a secure place on their person.

It is also in the first paragraph.

The Congressman said "it's not fair" referring to the clause in the legislation that requires Congress and their staffers buy health insurance through the exchanges that will be set up.

I'm challenging Jedi to show me where the Congressman said "to subject us to ObamaCare JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE."
Not everyone is subjected to ObamaCare. Most people with employer based plans will stay with those plans and have no need to learn about the exchanges.

I feel certain the Congressman knows this and never said those words that are being attributed to him. It's an example of right wing bias.

You need to learn a little more about Obamacare. Obamacare is about more than just the exchanges. And as far as "most" that is yet to be seen.

I know a lot about ObamaCare. This story is all about the exchanges. In this particular case the Congressman is objecting to the fact that he and his staffers are being required to drop their current health insurance plan and pick one from the exchanges. No one else is being required to drop their current plan and pick from the exchanges. In a way, I can see his point about fairness.

If you think health care is expensive now, wait until it's "free".

Curtis has a good point. Why does Jedi need to find a link anywhere. He did not create the title he just copy and pasted it. Your issue is with the author of the article not Jedi. Maybe you should write him.

Jedi never said anything. Never offered an opinion. He simply referred to an article. Not sure why I.T.L. is getting all bossy.

Maybe I will email the reporter, I've done it before. Maybe Jedi should vet articles before he posts them.

Do you and Bros. Curtis agree that the reporter is misquoting and/or putting words in the Congressman's mouth?

ObamaCare is not free health care. People will have to pay for it. We already have "free" health care, it's called Medicaid.

(Yes, I got your sarcasm.)

I don't know, but Jedi surely is not. Are we not allowed to copy the title of an article anymore ?

Or maybe the title is just not big a deal. Just read the article and deal with its content withoug rabbit trailing the thread over it. The article was appropriately "vetted" and it should be posted just as anything else is.

I cannot speak for Curtis but no I do not. For one the title is not intended to be a direct quote. And second it correctly communicates exactly what he was talking about.

Are you (will you) be required to purchase your health insurance through the exchange?

I'm pretty sure you're not. The article is a gross mis-statement, as not "everybody is subject to ObamaCare".

Again obamacare is about more than just exchanges. You need to do some research. And yes everybody is subject to obamacare. As long as everyone is forced to buy insurance they are subject to obamacare.
