The Tenth step in Chapter Two, "Proletarians and Communists" states:

"Free education for all children in public schools. Abolition of children's factory labor in its present form. Combination of education with industrial production, etc., etc." (Yes, the actual text says "etc., etc..")

Seems we DO know a little about this, eh ?

Thomas Jefferson advocated free education for all children. Was he a Commie?

Do you support child labor in factories?

Reference to the book please. Still you are not listing Communist tenets.

Thomas Jefferson ? He wanted government control of schools ? Can you prove this ?

And look up the book, based on my quotes. You'll be surprised where they come from.

The truth is, Jefferson wanted the Feds out of the public schools.

….The key to local school districts, according to Jefferson, is that they give parents direct and ultimate control over how their children are educated. To suppose that schools will he better managed by “any authority of the government, than by the parents within each ward…is a belief against all experience.” A government can no more manage schools than it can manage “our farms, our mills, and merchants’ stores.” Elementary education should be the concern of local communities under the supervision of parents; it should not be controlled by the federal or state governments.

Extreme decentralization was thus the centerpiece of Jefferson’s plan for public schools, and he warned of the potential consequences should this feature be ignored…..

Did you ever hear "Unasy Rider Remake '88" ?

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWzTU7VAPLY

"…I was feeling dry and I said, "I think
We ought to stop and get ourselves a drink"
And old Jim said "Yeah 'cause we got time to kill"

We kept on rolling and I seen this spot
We pulled into the parking lot
Of this place called the Cloud Nine bar and grill

    We walked through the door
    And the place was jammed
The lights were low they had a punk rock band
And some orange haired feller singing about suicide

I said, "Jim this ain't our kind of place"
He said, "Well let's just have one round anyway"
So against my better judgment we walked on inside…."

I had the original version on 8-track. Used to blast it through my Craig Powerplay and Jensen speakers.

So we don't get too far OT....

Well the Ukraine girls really knock me out
    They leave the West behind
And Moscow girls make me sing and shout
That Georgia's always on my mind.

Don't they teach American history in Montana?

Here are a few quotes from Jefferson @ http://www.monticello.org/site/jefferson/quotations-education.

How about quoting an unbiased source, like Jefferson as I did. Both your source and the Cato Institute, where the author works is anything but balanced in its publications.

None of those even come close to showing he supported a centralized federal oversight of public schooling, and my post proves he DIDN'T.

Can you come up with a commie quote that will convince me they supported intellectual freedom ? Otherwise I have to think you are conceding the argument over government control of schooling.

Prove it wrong. Show where the history is flawed.

    Thanx, in advance.

"A question of some doubt might be raised…as to the rights and duties of society towards its members, infant and adult. Is it a right or a duty in society to take care of their infant Members in opposition to the will of the parent? How far does this right and duty extend? — to guard the life of the infant, his property, his instruction, his morals?…It is better to tolerate the rare instance of a parent refusing to let his child be educated, than to shock the common feelings and ideas by the forcible transportation and education of the infant against the will of the father.”

"What has destroyed liberty and the rights of man in every government which has ever existed under the sun? The generalizing and concentrating all cares and powers into one body, no matter whether of the autocrats of Russia or France, or the aristocrats of a Venetian Senate."
