“When God is going to do something wonderful, He or She always starts with a hardship; when God is going to do something amazing, He or She starts with an impossibility. ”

The "He or She" speaks volumes.

She doesn't know the God of the Scriptures.

Check your Bible and see how often what we consider a female attribute is given in describing God.

    Just a few example:

God comforts his people like a mother comforts her child (Isaiah 66:13)
Like a woman would never forget her nursing child, God will not forget his children (Isaiah 49:15)
God is like a mother eagle hovering over her young (Deuteronomy 32:11)
God seeks the lost like a housekeeper, trying to find her lost coin (Luke 15:8-10)
God cares for his people like a midwife that cares for the child she just delivered (Ps 22:9-10, Ps 71:6, Isa 66:9)
God experiences the fury of a mother bear robbed of her cubs (Hosea 13:8)
Jesus longed for the people of Jerusalem, like a mother hen longs to gather her chicks under her wings (Luke 13:34)

Yet not one of them shows that God is a "she", does it? Note the key term "like" in those statements.

How does God refer to Himself? How did Jesus refer to God?

Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. -Luke 23:34

    5. No trolling. Trolling consists of provoking large volumes of responses by posting absurdities,

As I see it the root problem is human language. We have two genders, thus we are limited to using a word that denotes one or the other gender. I believe God is the perfect blend of both plus even more that we are not capable of comprehending. If we had a third term I denoting both genders I believe that word would have been used. Thus in human form Jesus was also limited by language.

The Bible gives attributes to God that are both masculine and feminine ... but God is not limited to either.

The first time I heard someone say she or her when meaning God it bothered me. It pushed me out of my comfort zone. They I prayed, read, thought and ask questions. I am now comfortable in believing that God is more than simply male and more than simply female. God is more than we can comprehend and, sadly again, we are limited by language.

My guess is there are some clergy on the BB who agree, but will not publicly say so for fear from their lay members. There is an excellent small book entitled, "Ten Things Your Pastor Will Not Tell You But But Can't, Because He Needs His Job" by Rev. Buzz Thomas.

I liked the link you put up that called her "Jesusy".

Perfectly describes her. She is no Christian.

Can we have a new BB Forum Category for "Quotes from non-Christians"? Crabby, you can be the moderator of that forum!

Just one more gut-wrenching example of liberalizing Scripture; and one of the results of radical feminism.

If - note I said IF - there was ever any doubt as to certain posters beliefs, this pretty well seals it!!

The idea that God is or even could be a she is heresy.

Why do you praise so many people who deny scripture ? Do you desire people to be saved, or do you desire to give them a comfortable ride to hell ?

Show in Scripture (KJ, please) a passage that directly refers to Him as a female.

Here are examples from the Bible showing that God portrays what we consider female attributes.

As I said, God is more than gender. You cannot pigeon hole God in a male pigeon hole.

C.T.Boy, your post is a direct copy and paste. They are not your words.

Own up, source it, and state that you forgot to give the link to this woman's work that you are claiming.

Crabtownboy's post was lifted from Dr. Margo G. Houts of Calvin College. An exact copy and paste.

www.calvin.edu seems to be down at the moment, and I can't get any more information for her, but I will keep trying.
