Is Israel Obama's next target? He has unilaterally moved to remove sanctions on Cuba, and he's trying to allow millions of illegals become citizens. Now it appears he will make an enemy out of our only ally in the fragile Middle East. Is anyone listening to him now? He is fundamentally changing America and he needs to stop. This man doesn't appear to love America, and we voted him into office twice. History will look back and wonder what we were thinking. :(

"...The article, which was written by Haaretz Diplomatic Correspondent Barak Ravid, did not use the term "sanctions." That was added by conservative news website The Free Beacon, which picked up the Haaretz article.

Ravid cited an unnamed senior Israeli official as saying that White House officials had held a classified discussion several weeks previously about the possibility of taking active measures against the settlements.

"The discussion was attended by senior White House and State Department officials who deal with the Israeli-Palestinian issue" Ravid wrote. "The Israeli official said that several steps were proposed to make it clear to the Israeli government that the United States objects to building in the settlements and to the construction’s negative repercussions.

"For example, the United States may refrain from vetoing condemnatory resolutions against the settlements in the UN Security Council. Or it could issue clearer instructions to American officials about the ban on cooperating with the settlements or funding activity in them."..."

Obama is angry about having lost the elections of 2014 and he has decided to enact his agenda by executive decree since the Democrat Party could not do legally what Obama wanted during his first six years. Now the Democrat Party is at a low ebb and Obama can no longer hurt them so he has a free hand.

The settlements on the West Bank are legal so anything that Obama might do against Israel on this issue would be illegal under international law--not that Obama would be deterred by international law.

We need to remind ourselves of this thought

Don't think that its beyond the Isreali government to do to us---what was done to the Egyptian army and to those who opposed the decisions of the Israeli government in what has been named "The Six Day War"

Folks go around thinking that they can't do to us what they did to Egypt and to Syria---and whoever else they've confronted in the past

Egypt and Syria were next door. We are not! Beyond that what you are saying does not really make any sense!

Israel apparently has the 4th strongest military in the world--behind the USA, the USSR, and the UK.

I just find it a big mistake to be listed as an enemy of Israel no matter their military strength. I'm more worried about the spiritual implications. I feel it would mark our country as an enemy of God, which we probably are already, but this would solidify it.

Source? I would be shocked if that's the case.

A stronger military than the PRC? Or India? Unlikely IMHO.

Also, the USSR no longer exists...

Your opinion is duly noted. However, Russia may be a shadow of their old self, but they still have nukes and many ways to deliver said nukes. In my mind that makes them at least a scary prospect.

I think you misunderstood. I didn't mean Russia wasn't a power or that they didn't have a powerful military. I know that they do. They are typically seen as the 2nd or 3rd strongest country in the world, especially with Putin's modernization. What I said was that the USSR does not exist. The Soviet Union (USSR) collapsed over 20 years ago, that is all I was referring to.

You are right, and I apologize for not catching that. It wasn't that clear.

At this time of the year we would do well to know and remember that only those who have been redeemed by the Blood of Jesus Christ are the Chosen People of God.

Not so. The Jews are the Chosen People until the end of the world. Paul says that we Gentiles are grafted in, as you know.

And the unbelieving of Israel were broken off! Jews are saved the same way Gentiles are.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

Rather than believing most Jews rejected Jesus Christ and the leaders conspired to have Him crucified.

    Ephesians 2:8, 9
    8. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
    9. Not of works, lest any man should boast.

There is only one way of salvation, not one for Jews and one for Gentiles.

No debate with any of the above--that is not exactly what I was saying. What I was saying is that the Jews are still the Chosen People, still the olive tree roots to which we are grafted in. We are adopted but Jews are still the physical descendants of Abraham, as you know. We are true members of the family but not descended from Abraham. Don't you agree with that?

You need to take seriously what God through the Apostle Paul tells us in the following Scripture. I do!

    Galatians 23:26-29
    26. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.
    27. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
    28. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
    29. And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.

And NO! the Jews are not still God's Chosen People unless they meet the conditions of redemption presented in post #17! Then they are one of God's Chosen just as we are. As the Apostle Paul tells us there are Elect among the Jews as well as among the Gentiles.

I understand--one last question--if there is neither male nor female, how come we're still male?
