I know this is from Saturday, but I've been out of town and I felt the need to reply to Reynolds comment here:

I don't think the church has to sanction every evangelistic activity we do, but I think the church should sanction the evangelist. After all, when we go out to do a work for the Lord, we don't just represent the Lord, but we also act as a proxy for our church.

Your other concerns are clear, though the above is my reasoning for the overall sanctioning of an evangelist. :smilewinkgrin:

 

This is the best example of your emotional immaturity. You don't like what one poster has to say to/about you, so you're trying to tell other posters what they can/cannot do in regards to her.

Seriously, dude; you've graduated college, or at least are beyond college age. Why are you acting like you're still on the elementary school playground?

Knowing what Evan has posted about the church he attends (non-Cal) and the church desires to attend (Calvinist) and the evangelistic technique he prefers (WOTM), I'd be curious to hear what advice Evan would give if someone asked him:

"What church do you attend?"
"Should I go there too?"

This really brings home the worth of having the church sanctioning evangelistic efforts and also exposes why Evan doesn't think he needs the church's blessing.

 

I think Don was the charter member of Evan's Ignore List before anyone else was on it. He's since been set free.

 

I did not know that returning from the Abyss of the List was possible.

 

Maybe its a fixed number and when someone joins he has to let the oldest one on the list out

Sometimes he recognizes that my posts are actually meant to help him, and he takes me off ignore.

However, as mentioned: I've caught him in at least two, possibly three integrity issues lately. I expect to be placed on ignore, and never to be taken off.
