Jesus tells His True People of all ages that we shall know the enemy of the Truth Matt 7:14-20

14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

This includes first and foremost the fruit of their understanding of what Christ's Death was to accomplish in the purpose of God !

False teachers make a lot of noise that seems to give honor to Christ and His Saving Mission, but in reality they only dishonor it, by making Him come short of the Fathers Purpose as to exactly what results should flow and succeed from His Death.

We will look at some scriptures that reveal the purpose that was to be accomplished by Him dying for whom He died for, the Elect of God !

And anything short of these intended results would deem Him a Failure !

Titus 2:11-14

11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,

12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;

13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Vs 14 here makes a statement as to what Christ was to accomplish by His Death, here stated as : "He gave Himself for us" That means His Death,

And here is why, introduced by the conjunction hina in the word THAT which means:

I.that, in order that, so that :

hína (a subordinating conjunction) – for the purpose that (in order that), looking to the aim (intended result) of the verbal idea. 2443 /hína ("for the purpose that") is "the semantically marked (dramatic) way of expressing purpose in Greek (as compared for example to the plain infinitive)" (G. Archer).

To make it plain, it denotes God's Purpose ! And this is what scripture makes plain about the Almighty's Purpose:

Isa 14:24,27

The Lord of hosts hath sworn, saying, Surely as I have thought, so shall it come to pass; and as I have purposed, so shall it stand:

For the Lord of hosts hath purposed, and who shall disannul it? and his hand is stretched out, and who shall turn it back?

That word disannul means :

ii.to frustrate, make ineffectual

Now who can make ineffectual the Purpose of Christ's Death as stated in Vs 14 of Titus 2:14 ?

Heres what is stated, He died or gave Himself for us [Believers] that or for the purpose of :

redeeming us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

Now if this stated purpose is not accomplished for every soul Christ gave Himself for, then His Death was ineffectual to that end ! And every spirit that teaches , remember 1 Jn 4:1 that any for whom Christ died, shall fall short of being redeemed from all iniquity, purified unto Christ as a peculiar person, and made zealous of good works, that teacher is a false teacher, a antichrist ! We know this by their fruit, which opposes the Purpose of God in Christ's Death !

Now to be redeemed from all iniquity as Titus 2:14 states, it means that those Christ died for are redeemed from the penalty and guilt of their iniquities, and the power of their iniquities !

They must come to a conscious realization of the realization that Christ's Blood has totally delivered them from sin and the guilt of it. This was something that was not provided for under the OT economy of the blood of bulls and goats, they always were reminded of their iniquities Heb 9:8-9

8 The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing:

9 Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience;


Heb 10:1-4

For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect.

2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered? because that the worshippers once purged should have had no more conscience of sins.

3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again made of sins every year.

4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

In other words, God would not allow them to have a conscience free from the guilt of their sins under that economy because of the insufficency of those sacrifices to take away their sins permanently !

But when it came to the Sacrifice of Christ, or the giving of Himself, it took away once and for all, all their iniquities before the Law and Justice of God, that now they will have their consciences purified from all sin against them ! Hence we read as a result of Christ's Blood shed this Heb 9:14

How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

Thats right, the Blood of Christ shall purge the consciences of those His Blood was shed for !

It purges away the guilt of sin, religious sin, or irreligious sins, they both are only dead works done in the flesh !

That word purge here in Heb 9:14 is the same word purify in Titus 2:14 !

Now the reason why I explained this is because, this must occur as a result of Christ dying for our sins in the purpose of God.

Christ's redemptive death would have failed the purpose of God in Salvation through Christ, if indeed His Death did not redeem from all iniquity those He gave Himself for according to the Will of God !

Titus 2:14

14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.

We have seen that He gave Himself for those He specifically died for, for the purpose of redeeming them from all iniquity, which did include from its penalty , power and guilt of it, and we concluded that if His Death did not accomplish God's Purpose in doing just that, it was a failure !

Christ giving Himself was in order that He might deliver us [those He gave Himself for or in behalf of] from this present evil world /age according to the will / purpose of God Gal 1:4

4 Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

This deliverance is an aspect of Salvation, deliverance from this present evil world. The word deliver exaireó:

That they be delivered from walking conformably to the age which this wicked world belongs Eph 2:2

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Its similar to Peters testimony that we have been redeemed from a vain conversation or manner of life 1 Pet 1:18

18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

That vain conversation is the same as the course of this world ! Now if this deliverance doesn't happen unto each one for whom Christ died [gave Himself for] then His death failed the purpose of God, and of course many so called christians do teach that millions for whom Christ died shall wined up in hell for their sins and in unbelief, which makes Christ's Death a failure !

 

For he shall save his people from their sins !

Whom Christ came to save was based upon a promise, for it is written:

Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

It was promised in the OT Scriptures Isa 45:17

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Paul under inspiration preached that Jesus was according to PROMISE raised a Saviour unto Israel Acts 13:23

23 Of this man's seed hath God according to his promise raised unto Israel a Saviour, Jesus:

The Jesus of the scriptures did not come to save, or offer salvation to everyone in the world, as it is falsely reported, but it was only for those given Him by the Father or those Chosen in Him before the foundation Eph 1:4

4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

The Us here is Israel to whom the Promise is made Isa 45:17

17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

Also is the His People of Matt 1:21

21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name Jesus: for he shall save his people from their sins.

His People, or Israel that He came to save is not israel the physical descendants of Abraham, for they are not the Children of God Rom 9:8, However its the Israel the Spiritual descendants of Abraham and of Christ, men and women of all nationalities which does include some ethnic jews, yet not exclusive to them !

Remember Salvation is according to God's Promise, and Gods Promise is quite specific and particular as to whom shall be saved in the Lord ! Israel !

 

For he shall save his people from their sins !2

Because this has been such a neglected subject, we are going to show scriptures that tell us who are the His People it is promised Jesus shall save them from their sins ! Its not the ethnic jews israel, for they are not the Children of God Rom 9:8 !

Now who are they ?

#1. Its Israel ! For the promise to save Israel is pretty clear Isa 45:17


17 But Israel shall be saved in the Lord with an everlasting salvation: ye shall not be ashamed nor confounded world without end.

The Israel here is God's Elect People from all Nations, the Church , the body of Christ ! Its a Spiritual Israel , the Israel of God Gal 6:15-16

15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.

The Israel of God is In Christ Jesus !

Another purpose which Christ's Death was to effect for all whom He died, that is gave Himself for or in behalf of was that they may Live together with Him 1 Thess 5:10

Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.

Notice what Paul wrote, Who died for us ! Why ? For what purpose ? That [hina, in order that] whether we wake or sleep, we should Live together with Him !

Now if any for whom He died does not Live eternally together with Him, as His dying for them purposed, then His dying for them was in vain and ineffectual, not accomplishing the purpose of God !

The thought here is that if we falsely teach that Christ did actually die for all men without exception, and yet in light of the intended results of His Death in the Purpose of God, not all without exception partake of them, then we must logically conclude that Christ's Death failed the purpose of God. Now another goal, objective of Christ dying, is that those He died for might receive the Adoption of Sons Gal 4:4-6

4 But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,

5 To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons.

6 And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father.

The being made of a women, made under the Law encompasses His Death coming to pass as preordained before the foundation 1 Pet 1:20, to redeem those He died for by His death, THAT hina stating God's intention and purpose, in order that, those He died and redeemed:

we might receive the adoption of sons.

Which is accomplished by sending the Spirit into our Hearts, which all denotes New Birth or being Born of the Spirit !

Now unless all for whom He died receive the Adoption of Sons as it was designed by God, then His death failed its purpose, and those who teach that some Christ died for shall yet never receive the Adoption of Sons, they are most guilty of teaching the failure of the death of Christ !

The Death of Christ in the Intention and Goal of God was that by it, we should be made the Righteousness of God in Him 2 Cor 5:21

21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that/hina we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

So plain and simple, If all for whom He by God was made sin for, does not be made the Righteousness of God in Him, then the purpose of God failed !

Another Purpose / Goal God intended to bring about by the Death of Christ was that, all for whom He died ,by it would be brought to God 1 Pet 3:18

18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that[ hina] he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

The word bring as in bring us to God is the greek word prosagō:


I.to lead, to bring

A.to open a way of access, for one to God

i.to render one acceptable to God



B.in a forensic sense, to summon (to trial or punishment)



II.to draw near to, approach

A.the land which a sailor is approaching seeming to approach him

Basically it means that we should be converted to God as an result of Christ's Death for us, so much so, that if one for whom He died isnt converted to God, the purpose of God has come to nought ! And for everyone teaching that one for whom Christ died can and will fall short of being genuinely converted to God, they are attributing failure to the Death of Christ in the Purpose of God !

Another purpose, objective that should result from the Death of Christ, that those He died for should be Sanctified in Truth Jn 17:19-20

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that/in order that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word;

Again one of the purposes in the Death of Christ, was that as a result, those He died for would be Sanctified in the Truth ! Paul alludes to this here Eph 5:25-26

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

Notice the same word hina/that at the beginning of Vs 26, as it states the intended result of Christ giving Himself for the Church, IN ORDER THAT HE by His Death would Sanctify it and Cleanse/Purify it, BY the washing of the Water of the Word, which is none other than the Gospel, the Word of Truth. The Word of Truth cleanses Ps 119:9

Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word.

The Gospel, the word of Truth is what is alluded to here in Jn 17:19

19 And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth.

For which end the Gospel is sent to them ! Now this being the case, Christ sanctified Himself [By His own Blood] in order to effect Sanctification of His Body the Church, and if each member of His Body the Church, whom He gave Himself for, doeth not come to be Sanctified in the Truth as stated Jn 17:19, then the purpose of His death malfunctioned the intention of God !

 

Who are the every man of Heb 2:9 ?

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

First of all the word man is no where present in this verse in the original, it was added by the Translators, and hence it gives the adversaries of Truth a weapon in their deceitful handling of the Truth of scripture, by stating that this verse is talking of every single individual of this world or earth.

One of if not the greatest evil of this false teaching that claims Jesus tasted death for every individual, and yet knowing full well that every single individual shall not be saved from the second death Rev 21:8

But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.

So the great evil is that they deprive the Death of Christ of its Saving Efficacy ! There is no other way to put it, if from this verse its taught that Christ experienced death for every individual, and yet every individual isnt delivered from the second death, then Christ's experiencing death for them is not in and of itself doesnt save anyone, which is nothing but antichrist, because it deprives the Cross of its Saving Efficacy !

So without hesitation we find the false teaching of Christ having tasted death of every single invidual, to included the Lost, a most damnable heresy !

Now for the Truth, this Verse is speaking of every Son Heb 2:10

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Its being stated here by His Death or through His Sufferings which culminated in His Death, it results in Him being rendered a fit Saviour, bringing them He suffered and died for, the Many Sons, unto Glory !

The word many denotes a Great Multitude of Sons, every one of that Great Multitude of Sons shall be brought to Glory through His Tasting Death for them !

Also they are the same many Sons or every Son of Heb 12:6

6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

Again in Heb 2:9 the word man doesnt appear in the original, and it would have been appropriate to add Sons there in its place, rendering the verse Heb 2:9

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every Son.

In that through means of His Suffering unto Death for them, He brings them to Glory Heb 2:10

10 For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

But those who falsely teach that He tasted Death for all mankind without exception, but yet acknowledge many out of mankind meet with the second death Rev 21:8 they cannot avoid of being guilty of contradicting the Saving Effects of His Death as realized in Vs 10 !

 

Christ made a curse for us !

Gal 3:13

13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:

Understand something here, all for whom Christ died, He was made a curse for them, on their behalf, in their stead, cursed by the Law of God.The word FOR as in He Christ was made a curse FOR US its the greek word huper and means in behalf of, denoting benefit and advantage or it can be " for our interest" ! Now that said, its not even possible for any for whom Christ died to ever be under the curse of the Law as these are said to be Gal 3:10

For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse: for it is written, Cursed is every one that continueth not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.

Those Christ died for can never ever be part of that as many !

No, not because they believe or because they repent or because of anything they did, but solely because Christ has already been made a curse for them in regards to all their Law breaking ! Its not even a aoption for them to under the curse of the Law because Christ was already cursed under it for their benefit and advantage !

You see, He in His own Body received the penalty due to their being cursed by the Law and its deserved condemnation, thats what Paul means here Rom 5:18

18 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

That word condemnation means:

I.damnatory sentence

Its the same word thats used when it says that they who believe not shall be damned Mk 16:16 !

Christ has been already damned in behalf of those He was made a curse for, so they cannot be damned again, a second time. Yes even though they are like others born sinners and by nature children of wrath as others Eph 2:3, yet they have a benefit , a advantage that other sinners dont have, who Christ did not die for, that is they are born dead to the Law by the Body of Christ Rom 7:4

4 Wherefore, my brethren, ye also are become dead to the law by the body of Christ; that ye should be married to another, even to him who is raised from the dead, that we should bring forth fruit unto God.

Now how does Paul tell his brethren they became dead to the Law according to Rom 7:4 ?

 

To be under the law for Salvation/Justification !

Gal 5:4

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

Understand something, to be under the Law for Salvation/Justification is not just applicable to the ceremonial and or the moral law of God, with all of its do's and dont's as revealed in the OT scriptures, like circumcision and other things of that nature as to be conditions for Salvation/Justification, but it does extend to ANY system of works and or human responsibility and or obedience to any precept or command, that must be done, Yes to say that one must Call Upon The Lord before being Saved or Justified before Him, that one must respond to God to be Justified before Him, It is to teach Justification by the deeds of the Law. The word Law nomos means:

that which is assigned, hence usage, law,

usage, custom, law; in NT: of law in general, plur: of divine laws; of a force or influence impelling to action; of the Mosaic law; meton: of the books which contain the law, the Pentateuch, the Old Testament scriptures in general.

of any law whatsoever ,a law or rule producing a state approved of God, i. e. by the observance of which we are approved of God,

the impulse to (right) action emanating from the Spirit, ibid.

the rule of action prescribed by reason

nómos ("law") then can refer to "the Law," or "law" as a general principle (or both simultaneously). The particular sense(s) of 3551 (nómos) is determined by the context.

And we notice of its multiple meanings is this:

the rule of action prescribed by reason, Romans 7:23; the mention of the divine law causes those things even which in opposition to this law impel to action, and therefore seem to have the force of a law, to be designated by the term

To impel to action. Say for instance, if we tell someone to do something with the threat of punishment if not done, that's Law. If we tell someone that Christ died for them, but now its up to you to believe in Him or else you are going to hell for your sins, we just preached Salvation by doing the Law.

Such a philosophy falls into the category of what Paul writes here Gal 5:4

Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; ye are fallen from grace.

In other words, your testimony of being saved by Grace or Justified by Grace is found to be bogus , counterfeit !

 

We are guilty of Teaching Salvation /Justification by works of the Law, when we teach that any conditioned by man must be performed in order to be made Just or Saved by God, and we are guilty of denying Christ !
